Paying a credit card if DD was returned

My fiance's direct debit for her credit card bill was returned because we missed the deadline for paying the money into her account.
As she has the money in her account, is there any way she can pay the bill now without there being a charge/negative effect on her account?
A quick reply would be appreciated as we need to get this paid asap.
Thanks in advance

It's also worth noting that the due date is 4th December. Will she still be charged for the DD being returned even though the payment due date hasn't passed?0

You should be able to call the credit card company and pay by debit card over the phone. This should clear pretty much immediately so should reach in time for your due date. If you do incur any charges, they may be really nice as it's so close to Christmas and waver them :rotfl:0

Not really worried about the bank charge, it's just it's a new credit card so don't want my fiance to have problems with it already. We've just checked her CC account online and it has the payment applied so won't let us pay by debit card online so looks like phoning them is the only way. Is there no way I can get the bank to redo the direct debit?0

Do you bank online? If so you could transfer the money that way0

Yeah she does but the bill says that will take 3 days to arrive whereas debit card payment only takes 2 days.0

I'm pretty sure that you're unable to redo a direct debit as this is taken by your credit card company rather than the bank itself. With my bank I can set up single payments/standing orders etc online. If you could do this it should be transferred to your credit card account immediately.0

I think maybe calling them would be your best bet. At least then you can explain the situation and offer to pay by card over the phone. It was a genuine mistake, I would like to think that they wouldn't hold it against you.0

My fiance just phoned Capital One and has been told she will be getting a direct debit return fee of £12  and what's more, they won't let her pay by debit card because the system is currently showing a balance of £0.00 so she has to do an online bank transfer which will then make the payment late and therefore incurring a late payment charge of £120

[STRIKE] Who's the credit card with?[/STRIKE] Answered while I was posting.
Which banks do you have available funds in with which you could make an online payment?
[STRIKE]Why would they try to take a DD before the due date?[/STRIKE] Capital One take the DD on or within (ie either side of) 3 days of the payment due date.0 -
