Thanks Sue-UU & Sparky, its nice to feel wanted.
Sue-UU I think my total for last Dec was about £115.00 so by all means add it to the grand total. Can I have a number for this year aswell? I will tell Kas you were asking for her, I think she spends a lot of her time in the "arms" these days. As you know she was always a problem child!
Today it will be a n/s/d we were out this am but I got Kas to pay the car park charge, as an OAP it was better out of her purse than mine.

  • I'm so pleased this week is nearly over and half term is here :j I need a break !!! My little one is very washed out and hasn't vomitted since midday so I'm hoping that she's on the mend. Thank you for the migraine recommendations, he suffers really badly ... I think a trip to the chemist to stock up is called for. I have never heard of taking magnesium supplements but it's definitely worth trying.

Well I had another NSD today but I made hubby empty his wallet into my pot :D I'm not sure how much went in but if he wasn't withdrawing cash to buy 'posh' coffee then I wouldn't be emptying his wallet !! I need to work out how much money I have saved this week due to not doing my weekly shop last weekend and then add that to my little pot. I'm amazed that my veg box combined with freezer and cupboard stuff has saved me so much money, I'm definitely going to plan more meals in the future.

    Hope everyone is well xx

It'd be a pleasure to have you with us, cookanator and tattycath. A warm welcome aboard and have fun saving. :D You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works. NB. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much. NB. Pots are emptied on 1st December 2011, thank you.

Great to see you, tattycath! I'm so pleased you've joined us.

Thanks so much for even more kind words, Footiemad, thought it's a sad old world if we can't help one another out now and then, and yes, that includes a few words encouragement..where necessary, though it does become second nature.

Marvellous news about the weight loss, Nickyj :T

Good for you, gambit, a great start.

See how swiftly we all become addicted, jammy dodger, a darn sight better than those white things though!!;) Well done JD, your lad too, bless him!

I wonder how many £2 coins come back into circulation in December once everyone has opened and banked their pots LOL :D

One heck of a lot for sure, loveLSDs, though I'll be sad to see mine go - best coins ever!

Good to see you again, isla_red and pleased to know the £50 helped at Christmas, I'll add it to the Grand Total for you. Very well done!!:T:T All the best for this year, take care.

I see what you mean with the vouchers, jakes-mum, you're not alone in thinking they're a bonus towards Christmas, you're right too. Go ahead and keep right on popping them in.
How many 20p pieces do I need to keep for parking change anyway??? :rotfl: I always try for free parking in town for 30 minutes for damage limitation purposes :D
I think CP charges make us all angry, bexs.ua, I know DH & I always try to find somewhere free to stop in. Waitrose charges £1..unless you can spend £10, but that just isn't always possible! Keep on saving your money where possible bexs!

Just look at the difference that 10 months'll make to you though, viv. Keep at it viv!!

Great for you with the cheque, Lost!

Oh WER, I just loved your last sentence!! :rotfl:Well done you as surely it's only Mum who gets one over our Kas! Great to see you back sooo quickly and I've had the pleasure of already adding your Total to the Grand Total. Very well done indeed, WER!!! :T:T There's no need to change, or renew your number as you still have the same one that you started out with - and will stay that way. You're still on the list, so if you could kindly pop your No on your signature for me I'd be really grateful as it makes it easier for both sparky & I when it comes to the big count up on or near December 1st. If you're not sure how to get to your signature Go to "User CP" at top left on the lower green bar. Click on it and a list appears on the left hand side; click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. We look forward to seeing you soon - Kas too mind!! :D

Well, I'll be jiggered, just been talking to Mum, now in walks Daughter! :j Hiya Kas and about time too!!! I know you've been on once this year, but it just isn't enough! :( Please come back more often Kas, you know you want to...you also need to brush up on tactics of how to outwit Mum & Dad!!! Really good to see you Kas. ;)

Hi Daisy, I'm really pleased your little one is getting better, your OH too. As he suffers from migraine a lot, he may be prone to getting a little hydrated, get him to drink at least a couple of litres of water a day to ensure he doesn't dehydrate! It really does help and can make the difference between having migraine and NOT having them. Magnesium is exceptionally good and is definitely worth trying. Also coffee can be another bad trigger! Just one a day is enough to help him. I hope your little on has a week of plenty of rest and play! Excellent news about the savings on meals! :T

£5.89 in the pot for me this week.

    More Pot news below folks:

An extra £165 has beenadded to the Grand Total everyone. Wrinkled English rose (WER) saved £115 & £50 saved by isla_red making the Grand Total now £37.581.47!!! :j

Have a wonderful and restful weekend folks, but time to enjoy the recreational bits too.

I'd be happy with that much come December jovi20, anything extra would be a bonus :D...

Sorry, When I said I got about £120 out of my jar last year, I forgot to mention that it probably took me about three years to save it!!. However, I wasn't part of the thread then, so now I am putting in more regular amounts, I'm hoping it should add up a bit quicker.

Having said that, its just 68p going in the pot today.

It is great reading about everyone adding to their pots over the last week or so since I last popped on this forum.

Sad to say I have nothing to declare again this week - managing to be very frugal (which in many ways is a good thing) with 5 NSDs so far this week, and I have still not broken into the £10 I took out last Sunday, so no change in my purse.

I seem to have exhausted the possibilities of drawers and pockets and no roadkill spotted either. ;)

Having said that, in the unlikely event I still have the tenner on the 28th of Feb I am going to put that in my pot to keep it growing, and if I change my Grocery Challenge next month to a Cash purse instead of closely watched card payments I might get some more contributions to the pot that way. :)
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

  • Just spent ages catching up with everyone. This really is catching isn't it? I have been potting away quietly, but been too busy to post much, as I have taken on extra work to boost my income, and have been busy with ebay this last week too. Good luck everyone, and keep up the good work. C
