Morning all, I've been a bit MIA as working non-stop (but 4 overtime shifts under my belt and another 3 booked - take THAT debt!). Now got a week off to enjoy myself.
I've been plugging away at my sealed pot - reckon I've got around £60 in there, give or take a tenner either way! I need to be at £75 to be on target for halfway through feb so I need to up my game! I'm already looking forward to Dec 1st!DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011

Hi all daily £1 potted . been doing our budget today . we were doing a 12 mont one but I got all confused with it so going back t monthly. OH doesnt understand that I HAVE TO KNOW WHATS GOING ON in the account . he says put the money in you know how much goes out mostly, some vary sightly month to month, so you know what yove gt left .THis works in theory but then DH buys stuf then doesnt put
the money back then forgets then we argue . yuo know what happens. anyway Its took me all morning to get my head round it but sorted now .thank the Lord. Hope all ok sending big Hugs.xSealed pot (2010) no: 878 £719.60 :jCompleted

fishcakes, you have just perfectly summed up why I refuse to have a joint current account with my OH! We have a joint mortgage, but he pays me a set amount for bills/mortgage a month and I sort out all the bills from my current account (except the Sky which I refused to pay for as I'd just have freeview!). He'd drive me barmy withdrawing money willy-nilly and buying stuff on Sky etc, it'd be impossible to budget around him! This way, my account is in perfect working order, he pays his share, and whatever he chooses to do with what he has left is up to him!! We've yet to have an argument about money in 3 years so it works for us.
Well done on managing it despite him though! :rotfl:DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011

It's the opposite in our house, my DW is absolutely terrible with money, if I gave her the card to the bills account nothing would get paid. To get around this we both get pocket money and save for any big items we want, this seems to work well for usSparky0107 - Sealed pot challenge member #002.
