International calls to Syria from mobile phone

I have been doing some research into which is the cheapest way calling from a UK mobile to a Syrian mobile. Planet talk seems to be the cheapest, costing 9p/minute. Can anyone tell me if there are better deals at all? thanks

9p a minute is from a BT Landline plus a connection charge , prices can and do vary substantially from non BT landlines and mobiles.

There are lots of providers that allow you to make cheap international calls via your mobile, their prices can fluctuate so it's a case of shopping around. I don't call Syria but I use foocall on my mobile to make calls abroad - the call rates are on their website I think.

Does the other person have a phone with internet?

You could use FRING for free to call anywhere- you need to install it on both phones

They have a UK landline access number, so the total cost would be 8p/min plus the cost of a UK landline call. I make a lot of international calls this way, so I have added an unlimited landline calls add-on to my mobile tariff.
