Small rant about people on ebay.

I've listed a few things tonight 2 of which are mobile phones. One of them is already at £79 in the 40 minutes the listing has been on, and i've just read through 5 messages from people asking what Buy It Now price I want for it. One of them also offered to buy it now for £50 even though it's at £79 :D

If I wanted to put a Buy It Now price on then I would have done in the first place but to get a message with a bid almost £30 less than it's going to sell for is just taking the mickey!!!

Ah well that's my rant for tonight over :D

  • Yes, I've an item, bid up to £10 + postage at the moment. 4 days to go. Had a message today from someone who needed the item very urgently and offered to send a cheque for £10 if I add B I N for that amount. Well , it's there already and it can't be urgent enough to post a cheque and wait for it to clear?!
I'm also being harrased by a seller at the moment, two emails every day for the last week, after I left a neutral for an item not received. They want me to change it to a positive when other buyers have left negatives in similar cicumstances. I'm sorely tempted to agree to the feedback change then leave a negative instead!

  • I'm on the verge of giving up with eBay, it really is becoming more hassle than it's worth. I've just sold a mobile phone on there. In the advert I stated that it comes with just the charger. I had a message from someone asking what accessories it comes with and before I had chance to reply he bought the item. I replied to confirm it just comes with the charger. Today (2 days later) I came back from posting it to find he's emailed me again to say that because I described the phone as being in immaculate condition, he expects it to come with a USB lead, applications disc, headphones, memory card etc. I've politely suggested he reads adverts properly and asks questions before buying in the future. I'm going to have trouble with him, can see it coming. He'll raise a SNAD dispute as soon as he gets it.

I'm sorely tempted. I did omit to say that I received a full refund from Paypal who found in my favour a month after buying the item.
No e-mails yesterday nor today as yet. They might have given up? If they have and I receive no more then I'll probably leave the neutral as it stands. I suspect they think a positive is merited because I was refunded. I also received an instant positive from the seller automatically after paying.

I don't think you can change a neutral to a neg, AFAIK you can only revise feedback 'upwards'. But you can certainly leave a follow-up comment to your feedback if you think it's warranted.

I am wishing I hadn't bothered with it all now. The first phone sold to what looked like a scammer and the 2nd phone I had listed sold to someone who wanted to pick it up tonight. I told them that would be fine but still waiting for them and I haven't heard from them either, they have my email address and mobile number.

Perhaps the OP isn't in a hurry.

    I hate "advertised elsewhere".

I asked earlier this week how much they had it advertised at, his reply "make me an offer".
