'3' broadband dongle early cancelation

LAST NOVEMBER WE HAD TO GET A BROADBAND DONGLE TO GET INTERNET ACCESS, IT WAS ON A TWO YEAR CONTRACT.

ANYWAY WE NO LONGER NEED IT AND WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT. MY HUSBAND RANG THEM, REALISING THERE WOULD BE AN EARLY CANCELLATION FEE BUT WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST £160. WOW SAVE TO SAY WE DIDNT CANCEL.

HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE OR IS THERE A WAY ROUND IT.

no way out I'm afraid , you signed a contract for that period and they expect you to honour it

  • When you sign up for a contract you need to think of how long your committment will be, as its legally binding. Whether you need it or not is irrelevant, you signed up for 24 months a year ago and 3 expect another 12 months money from you. That's the trouble with 24 month contracts - I have a Vodafone dongle on a similar contract and also only needed it for approx a year, but I'll have to pay till the contract time is up. Just make sure you give notice at the right time or you will end up paying for an extra month at the end.

Oh, and don't write messages all in CAPITALS as its considered rude / shouting.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago I was told the same thing, need to pay the remainder of the contract - I even offered to change my contract to a phone instead and they wouldnt budge. I just had to ride it out and pay for something I didnt need :(
