    Assuming I'd bought a ticket ;) ... I would:

    • clear my debts - but would probably still haggle for a full and final settlement; :rotfl:
    • donate something to my favourite charities;
    • decorate throughout, including a new kitchen and bathroom (I like where I live so have no desire to move);
    • go on holiday;
    • eat lots and lots of chocolate;
    • still visit MSE for good deals so that my winnings go further!
    My LBM was the best thing that could have happened to me - and made me realise what an unnecessary financial mess I'd got myself into. Being on a DMP isn't easy but life's better now than it was pre-DMP ... and I'm looking forward to enjoying a good life post-DMP while living well within my means.

    Therefore, I wouldn't offer to pay off someone's debt for them "just like that" - I'd find some other way of helping them out instead.

    Great question to ask us :):)

    This is something I have thought about often, and yes I would do it - and I can name the person I would help out (and *if* I ever win he can hold me to that!), the infamous, SouthernScouser - I think because he has been on these boards as long as me, struggled with his debts & done ever so well. There are heaps of others I would help too, even if just a token payment, and also give some money to debt related charities.

    xx
