stand alone broadband package

Hi there, I do not need phone access but do need internet. I am currently with BT paying £90 a quarter for line rental, broadband and the basic phone charges even though I do not use a phone (or even have one!). If I changed to plusnet at £6.49 a month is there any other hidden charges ie line rental or is it really a straight figure of £6.49 a month? Thanks julia

You don't need any call package but you do need a phone line as without one the ADSL won't work and to get the line you'll have to continue paying line rental.
Moving from BT for your broadband is probably still a good move though as they offer poor VFM. Plusnet prices vary by exchange type so use http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php to find the classification of yours. While you are there check if Be/O2 and/or Sky LLU are shown as available as they are both good.0
