Is it really easy to switch to EDF?
I have for the first time with the help of this site looked into switching my energy supplier. using the comparisom sites EDf energy can save me a substantial amount with EON just a little way behind it. Does anyone have any experience of these 2. looking at MSE EON seems to be giing away a free energy checking metre, would I be better off going with this one to get it?

Im sure I have seen somewhere that EDF are giving £100 to new customers and doing it through Quidco there is another payment (I forget how much)
I have been with EDF for many years with no problems at all.
freephone number, excellent customer service.
My memory of the changeover was that i rang up EDF, put my request in and i didnt have to do anything else (apart from some meter readings of course) and the changeover happend in a few weeks, (and I didnt feel a thing.:D
I think the online saver 7 is the one I am on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
4 or 5 years back, I used to be with British Gas and Powergen (before they were e.on) and decided I could save money by switching to just one supplier. Wary of changing both, I decided to go for dual fuel with one of my existing suppliers. Powergen were much more responsive than British Gas, who even back then were losing customers hand over fist, so it was Powergen who got my business.
So I switched, BG made a feeble attempt to keep me, and no regrets. Everything went smoothly, balances were cleared and I made sure I had my own readings at the changeover date for the gas, but didn't need them.
Bit of a foul-up when Powergen decided to change my electric meter - took a few months to sort out that I hadn't really used £5,000 worth of electricity in one day, but the person they appointed to sort it out did so and it cost me nothing extra, she even called me back to save the cost of a call.
E.on's best rates are usually offered online and you can only sign up to them that way, but worth pursuing in my experience - and I got the free electricity monitor from them, which has been interesting. Not terribly accurate, but interesting and useful nevertheless.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. sign up to edf`s online energy saver 7 via quidco and they give you £80 (even if its your first time they only want £5 subs a year from your first payout) , and edf give you a £100 bonus for signing , paid as credit to your bill after 90 days.
£180 for signing is pretty good and they have just extended it/0 -
I signed up from Scottish Power in the middle of the year because my old deal had run out (sad to leave tbh because they were a cracking company). Change over was easy enough, although I'm now 6 months in and still can't access the online section, have been told by CS they are having problems and just to keep trying with the online section.Credit card and overdraft at 18. 2 loans and 3 storecards at 20. University education flushed down the toilet through debt at 22. Car finance at 23. Car repossessed at 24. Rock bottom at 25. Learnt my lesson 26-33. Now 34 with a mortgage on an affordable house, a car paid for with cash and a bank account in credit. I learnt the hard way.0

Once the £80 shows in your Quidco account, how do you actually get the cash? How long after requesting the switch till the £80 shows?0 -
According to the T & C on the website the £100 credit is available until the end of the year so lots more people can find out!
I have done and should be saving hundreds hopefully.Quidco already fully tracked0 -
I am with EDF and although I switched earlier in the year as M&S were offering £60 to move (which was the bait) I got the vouchers plus an extra £20 for some reason and then moved back and I am very happy with them. No penalty to pay for moving. I too am on theOnline Saver 7 tariff and their customer service is excellent. Mind you, having a heavy bill so early on in the winter is going to make my eyes water but it cant be helped. Their bills are easy to understand too. So I say go for EDF......and if you can get the cashback offer as well you will be quids in!!!Im sure I have seen somewhere that EDF are giving £100 to new customers and doing it through Quidco there is another payment (I forget how much)

Help!,
I switched to EDF online 7 on the 29th and it hasn't tracked even though the average is 1 day. I need the cash to offset the penalty fee I would have to pay S.P. Has anyone got any experience on how long it takes to track please?0 -
We switched to EDF for Southern in MArch/April. We get extra Nectar points which is nice and whilst they do seem cheaper, I think they tend to under estimate. I always phone them up and give a proper meter reading - which then gives us a little more time to pay!
