This question gets thrown up every year as to why people on DLA don't get the fuel grant, maybe the government expect you to use your DLA.
Why are under 65s expected to use their DLA, but over 65s aren't? And there's no "cold weather" component within DLA. So, how are people on DLA expected to use their DLA for heating and meet all care needs?Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I ain't jumping on this roundabout again this year, do a forum search as my answers are exactly the same as they were last year. Just the same as your questions are the same as last yearWhy are under 65s expected to use their DLA, but over 65s aren't? And there's no "cold weather" component within DLA. So, how are people on DLA expected to use their DLA for heating and meet all care needs?

"You do not get it with WTC!"
So why do you say you do get it with child tax credit. Same thing only child not adult disabilty! As I said you get it if you get the disability premium for a child but not adult. Working tax credit is same as child tax credit in what forms you do etc you are just using a different name. Working tax credit disability premium is the equivalent of income support if you work a low level job or reduced week etc hence lower salary chance for those with a disability however the trigger of additional payments etc doesnt carry through eg cold weather, prescriptions etc.0 -

WTC is for people who work. You can't get CWP and work at the same time.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Just a personal point. The system of payments should be given in vouchers so it is spent on heating and not other things that some do. Not suggesting that anyone here does, but it can buy a lot of ciggies or tinny's.0
