Opening / moving bank accounts just before getting a mortgage

I'm not sure whether this is the right place to post this, so please feel free to re-direct me if appropriate!
I have held my current account with Lloyds TSB for about 7 years but I am thinking about changing, because of a bad experience a while ago.
I also hold a couple of savings accounts which I have opened over the last couple of years. I do move my savings every year or so to get the best deals.
I am hoping to take out a mortgage next year and I was wondering whether the frequency that I am opening and moving accounts will affect how lenders view me. If I opened a new current account in the next couple of months, would this affect me getting a mortgage in Autumn 2011?

The only recordable credit application search will be for a current account, unless it's basic. The savings accounts won't matter.
I changed mine during my mortgage application and it was fine. That said, a lender will like to see someone stick with the same bank for a long period, it shows financial stability. There will be a question on the application asking how long you've held your current account for; I'd guess 1-3 months would maybe affect your credit scoring...0
