Samsung Tocco Lite - Voicemail retrieval

Have a new Samsung Tocco Lite with which I'm very pleased apart from one thing. I have one saved voicemail message. I'm on T-mobile so I dial 1 and get the voicemail inbox which tells me I have one saved message and tells me to listen to voicemail message press 1

What I have on the screen is a tab saying

In call (1)
1 Voicemail (white telephone icon on red background)

However I am unable to proceed further. When I press on any of these nothing happens. I'm sure I'm missing something basic but how I can follow the instruction to "press 1"?

when your in a call your phone locks so you need to press and hold the unlock button (on the side) then there should be a option on the screen for keypad you can use.

My husband has th esame problem with his new tocco light - yet pressing the 'unlock' button method would not work...

Any suggestions? Its driving my husband mental...

Press the arrow button in the middle of the buttons at the bottom, then press it again, then touch the keypad button and it should bring it up.

I have just bought a Tocco Lite and have the same problem. I press the Hold button, but nothing happens when I press the Keypad. There is not an arrow button??? At the bottom there is Keypad Phonebok More.
