    Monarch are attempting to look after everyone off this flight, only 50% of the people booked to fly actually got to the airport this morning but as the airport decided to close for 24 hours, it isn't easy. There is an anticipated heavy snow storm expected at Gatwick early this afternoon which is alledgedly the reason the airport decided to close for the whole day...

    isn't there a telephone number for gatwick airport that you could ring and get them to put a call our for your mum ... or have i been watching too many Airline/Airport programmes?

    I'm not sure about Gatwick, but aren't lots of airports 'silent' now?
