thanks all. I dont have the boielr model till I get home. I think its a worcester one I shall check. There is a min/max switch on boiler front and its almost to the max.

before the boiler was fitted plumber did go round all the rooms and measured the size of the existing rads. I will count them all later and give an update

i have a similar problem with my new boiler , had a baxi back boiler and my living room would heat up from cold in around 30 mins , i've got a thermometer strip thing and that told me that the room would heat to 21deg no problems , had the boiler replaced with a worcester greenstar 30si in march , also replaced rad with one around 1/3rd bigger , the room can take around 2 hrs to get warm ,have a wireless stat set to 21deg but although the stat read out never goes over 18deg the strip themometer just about gets to 21 although this is not near the wireless stat

the rads do get hot , but they don't seems to heat the room up as well as my old boiler and smaller rad system
  • I have a similar problem. My back boiler was replaced with a Vaillant Ecotec Pro, and all bar two radiators were replaced with new ones. My house never seems to get warm, even with the rad temp set at 75 degrees. The rads get scorching hot, but but the rooms downstairs don't get warm.

Does anyone have ideas of things I can try, before I bankrupt myself calling a plumber :)

    Thanks

Call your installer back! The obvious that springs to mind is that the rads he supplied and fitted are undersized (no not in feet and inches terms but in heat output terms) for what you are asking them to do. T'will be an interesting discussion methinks.
