  • Hi

A while ago I received a mini Christmas mailing with a 250 points coupon wyb any Eau de Toilette and another one for 250 points wyb from the Christmas 3 for 2 range, which I ignored because I was trying to avoid spending yet more money in Boots. But there are plenty of items that are "free" in Boots logic, my favourites are Thorntons Chocolate lollies - £1 each, 3 for £2 and 250 points back.

Not quite free but lovely for stockings, the Thorntons reindeer £1.50 each, 3 for £3 and 250 points back

Also some shower gels and gift tags for £1 each, 3 for £2.

For the EDT, I am going instore to try and hunt down the Adidas Team Force EDT - £2.19 with 250 points back
    http://www.boots.com/en/Adidas-Team-Force-Eau-De-Toilette-50ml_854526/
or the Bench for her - £3.75 with 250 points back
    http://www.boots.com/en/Bench-For-Her-Eau-de-Toilette-30ml_1002664/

    Various other EDTs for £3-£4

Not sure how widely mailed these coupons were, but hope lots of you have them.

Hi all i tried to get some chocolate coins on 342 and use the coupon today and till said no, i argued that they were on xmas 342 (so said till) so they rang customer services and still was a "no" cause although they are 342 they didnt have green stickers as required in the terms and conditions on the back. So I was a bit grumpy but hey will try finding something else to use it on.

    Hi

That's a shame - sorry. I did get 3 x choc coins with my coupon. Till also said no for me, but SA added the points manually without me having to ask as she said they were definitely on 3 for 2 and clearly Christmas stock - not sure how they can argue otherwise really? Try another store or even another till?!

I used these both yesterday - bought the Lee Stafford "Pink" Eau de toilette for £3.96 reduced from £5.95 and 3 of the Thorntons chocolate lollies on 342 for £2...total £5.96 with £5 worth of points back! Neither coupon would go through tho, the SA got a senior assistant who said she had to check with the manager...I waited while she checked and 5 minutes later she came back and said they would honour them but the lollies shouldn't have been allowed as they're not part of the 3 for 2 christmas stock??? Hmmm...not sure what other times of the year they plan on selling Penguin lollies wearing scarves and hats and with christmas stockings and baubles all over the packaging...

Anyway, thanks OP! I'm very happy with these and was quite impressed with myself for making sure I got the vouchers accepted. There was definitely nothing on the vouchers stating a minimum spend or specific products.

Mine wouldn't go through the till either with 3 for 2 gift tags with the green parcel sticker on them and I walked away a very disappointed customer, and I have spent a fortune at Boots this year too and the SA serving me knows that as well. :(

I did have to argue my point a little bit as the SA just gave me the standard "It says you haven't reached the minimum spend or bought the qualifying product"...but I pointed out that the voucher doesn't have any minimum spend on it, nor does it specify exactly the qualifying product apart from "buy into the christmas mix and match 3 for 2". And if you look online, both the lollies I bought and the gift tags you were trying to buy are listed inder their "Christmas" section and as part of the 3 for 2 mix and match. Not good that they are just saying no. I hope you get to try again and get your vouchers accepted second time round.
  • I used mine on the zingzillas and ben 10 face cloths £2 each, 3 for 2 and 250 points went through without a beep. Hth x

so are you saying that it should have gone through because you spend a lot at Boots?

Don't actually see the relevance to this coupon not being accepted and your normal spending habits.

She is not suggesting that the coupon should have gone thru the till because of her Boots spending habits! And are the comments really irrelevant? Shirley999 was trying to make a valid purchase under the promotion and it was refused. The tills are not programmed correctly and the SAs have to manually apply the offer. Neutral customer service would result in the SA manually granting the points once the terms of the offer are pointed out. Good customer service is adding the points without having to be asked. As a known and valued customer, the expectation is for at least neutral but preferably good, so anything less is disappointiing.

I find it helpful to hear how other people get on trying out different vouchers on different products - how did you get on with yours catch me if you can?

I merely wondered what relevance her comment quote: "and I have spent a fortune at Boots this year too and the SA serving me knows that as well. :("

WHAT does that have to do with a coupon being accepted? Surely all customers have the right to be treated the same irrespective of their spending habits in any particular shop? Are you really suggesting that the SA's have such autonomy that they can refuse to apply a promotional offer because they don't "know" a customer? :rotfl:

And fyi I have never had a coupon refused in Boots. Thanks for asking xx
