Had to tow the UPS delivery van up the hill (I have a 4x4 with winter tyres fitted so no problem). AMG mercedes spun badly outside the house and crept back home gingerly. Taxi has just ended up in neighbour's garden - just done another rescue. All on a little close of 17 houses.
  • Same here, except that all rescues were done by manpower alone ... only a small close of about 30 houses.

North West London had a couple of inches, no big deal.
Main roads are clear, small roads are clear in the middle.

May I congratulate the Dodge Viper driver in Maidstone today for such balls and car control.

I'm in Kent right by biggin Hill airport

I've just got to work now and i left my house at half 5. My jouney from home to Central London usually takes between 30 and 60 mins but as you can see, it's taken me 4 and a half hours lol !!

So many cars were getting stuck it's untrue. Had to get out of my car at one point and tell a little old asian man behind me that if he continues to tailgate me and then hits me i would not be happy - needless to say he hung back after that.

Why do people drive so aggressive in snow? It's as if they want to crash or write their car off

It is amazing how this country grinds to a halt when there is a little sprinkling of snow. Maybe the government should force the trains companies into action to make sure the trains run as well as getting motorists to use winter tyres its a joke. My ex in Eastern Europe took a 9 hour train journey through 5ft snow drifts and it arrived 3 minutes late lol

Hasn't been too bad driving today...bit of slipping on non main roads. Just trying to follow common sense rules when driving in this weather. Did have an idiot fly past me in a 4x4 on the A19 looking very smug; saw him a minute later, as we drove past him, he was in a ditch next to some trees at the side of the road.
Later on the wife had to get out of the car, to tell some idiot to get away from the back of our car ,as he was approximately 8-10 inches away from our bumper. And the cars in front of us were sliding back (we'd stood well back just in case)....she took photos of his car, distance, etc. just in case anything did happen and he tried to put in a fat claim...His words of wisdom as the car in front kept slipping and skidding was, "well just keep going". Just keep going where? Is common sense on ration now?:D

Probably more so that people don't know how to utilise it.

So many people just shouldn't be on the road PERIOD.

Had another 3 inches here last night. Still snowing now. People managing to get around.

The reason it takes so long to get anywhere is morons not fit to hold a licence pottering around in panic mode at walking speed in case they get stuck. Trouble is that once traffic starts coming to a halt it then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy because there's not enough traffic moving over the road to melt/disperse the falling snow.

On a nearby 1 in 6 hill, a bloke in a car was dawdling to the approach at 20mph, even though the road was clear. Wife could see the driver of the lorry behind him just put his hands up in the air. We overtook them both and shot off up the hill. Sure there was plenty of snow on the verges but you don't drive on those so why the hell people drive slowly is beyond me.

I drove Central Scotland-Glasgow, took ages, atleast I managed to get out my drive & street today - better than I done Monday & Tuesday! The roads are still terrible, slushy and very slippy :( I skidded out on a few round abouts and gladly made it to work in one piece only to find that someone has cleared a path/drive to the carpark and put all the snow into the spaces...so theres no where to park :(

Just hope I make it home ok! :)
