experiences today in the snow

Options
Just thought I'd ask how everyone found travelling today in the snow. For me, after getting to the train station this morning there were no trains and some people had been on the platform for up to an hour without seeing a single train pass. After staying a while and no joy, I decided to head back home. Usually a 40 minute drive, it took me over 5 and a half hours to get back (although in one piece which is the main thing). Traffic at a standstill, cars in all sorts of trouble when we did manage to move forward). My car wasn't too happy at times. This was in north kent coming from greater london.

Anyone else have trouble today? Amazing how snow leads to gridlock in places!
:D

Not too bad in South Manchester. I am trying to finish my errands today so I can avoid driving tomorrow. I imagine it will be an ice rink tomorrow. We only had a couple of hours of snow fall too and that was in the middle of the night.

It is the ice causing the problems though not the snow.

  • Here in lincoln the traffic has been at a stanstill for 3 hours as all the hills in the city are impassable and some drivers have said it's taking them hours to do a normal 10 minute journey. http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/lincolnshire/

people need to say where they are otherwise the posts don't really make much sense.

Me ..Telford...Not much to report, fortunately the kind people to the east and the west ( and the north and the south)of us have taken our fair share of the snow
