Can Anyone Help Me Please?????

Hi

This is my first time on this particular board, so please be nice.....!:o.

Right...... the good bit.... (i'll try and keep this as simple as possible.....)!!

I have a master phone socket downstairs. Into that is an extension to the other side of my living room (where the tv is).
Into that is a double adapter.
Each output from the adapter has a microfilter in.
One microfilter has the wireless router and Sky HD box connected, the other has just a cordless phone connected.

Now, that setup is fine and always has been.
NOW THE PROBLEM.......

The HD BOX is a new addition, so we now have a normal sky+ box that we want upstairs for multiroom. As there's no phone socket upstairs, all i've done is put a double adapter in the main socket downstairs, and run a line up to the bedroom from that for the sky box.
The setup in part one of this post is exactly the same, except now it is connected to the double adapter in the main socket rather than the main itself.
THE PROBLEM IS that I lose my internet connection with this setup for some reason? As soon as i remove the double adapter from the main socket it's fine again, but that means I haven't got the capacity for an upstairs connection anymore?!!

Can somebody please guide me cos' it's really doing my head in now? Is it something as simple as a probable faulty double adapter?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any comments.:)

Sounds to me like you need a microfilter upstairs where the Sky+ box is.

    Also instead of this:
I have a master phone socket downstairs. Into that is an extension to the other side of my living room (where the tv is).
Into that is a double adapter.
Each output from the adapter has a microfilter in.
One microfilter has the wireless router and Sky HD box connected, the other has just a cordless phone connected.
    I'd have;

Extension-microfilter then the double adaptor for the Sky box into the phone port as well as the phone & the lead for the router into the other port.
Then I'd take the spare micro filter you've removed & fit that where the unfiltered phoneline for the Sky+ box is.
  • I'll go try that now, thanks a lot for the suggestion. I'll let you know what happens..................
  • IT WORKED.............. IT BLOODY WORKED!!! Thankyou so much!!My massive headache has instantly disappeared!!
Had to plug the the "new" spare microfilter directly into the second port of the double adapter at the main socket, and Bob's your uncle.............!!

    Again, greatly appreciated..... THANKYOU :D.
