Well, Everybody claims 7.2 mbps HSPDA over internet dongles but you really need to check the speed of various networks.
Only then you can make informed decision. I have un-locked dongle and all networks give me almost the same speed, fast enough to check e-mails and general surfing of internet.
    BTW I've 3GB from T and U/limited from o2.
    Hope this helped.

I'm with 3 and I currently pay £15 for 5GB on a rolling monthly contract.

About £15 a month for 3GB is about par for the course on contract with most networks apart from 3 who as has been mentioned offer 5GB. PAYG reckon on 1GB.

Coverage maps can't be trusted so make sure there is a cooling off period whichever you choose and return it if it isn't good enough well inside that period.

Check cashback sites such as Quidco and TopCashBack and sign up through them rather than direct. When I got mine a couple of years back there was £90 cashback but klast time I looked it had droped to ~ £40 iirc. Take a short contract only and negotiate a reduction as soon as you get to the end of the contract - I pay £7.50 now.
