In your own words quoted above "MY LIFE HAS BEEN SOME WHAT EFFECTED" made me ask the question as to why you were only asking about the financial benefit and nothing else.
What else do you expect him to ask about? You suggest that he could ask about long term issues for his injury, but quite apart from the fact that he has clearly already given this some consideration as he expects his injury to be short term, it should be a matter for common sense that a specific and accurate prognosis for an injury can only be given by a medical practitioner following an examination. On the other hand, this forum has a number of members who regularly post regarding civil procedure in personal injury claims. A quick browse shows you that. I don't entirely see where the criticism comes from for a member who asks a specialist question in a forum where he is likely to receive answers from those members with knowledge on the subject. Especially when that subject involves compensation that he is legally entitled to.

  • All, lets start a fresh here, i was only asking for advise. the first step i went to the doctors to get advise and i will be going back for updates, the second step is about the compensation, all i asked for was a little info, sorry if people have been offended and jamie thankyou for understanding some what. I am not after an easy buck as previously stated but would like to be treat fairly by whoever. I took the advise from their insurance that if i go through them not only would it be cheaper for them, as they dont have to pay any parties solicitors, it would also benefit myself. I think i will just wait to see what they say.
Lastly the fella who hit me phoned me up and threatened me not to make any claims which to add to all of what has happened has made it a little more stressful, i have contacted his insurance to tell them this and they are going to contact him to ask him not to make contact with me.
I wish something could be done about the whiplash claims to verify them but it is out of my hand and obviously people are going to think all or the majority of claims and fraudlint, like me i did until now, now i know what its like on the other side of the fence.
Thanks for all the help guys.
  • You are on a public forum!!dont tell people not to comment just because you dont like what they put, obviously you have made your point LOUD AND CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!! only people that can advise on what money you can get should reply

What was the nature and severity of your injuries, out of interest? Did you choose not to claim because you recovered quickly, or some other reason?

I'm just curious about the above questions. In any event you chose not to claim for something that you were legally entitled to. That's fine. It is entirely your choice, and your reasons are your own. But just because you decided not to claim, it doesn't undermine the decision of those who do decide to claim. Nor does it make their decision immoral, wrong, opportunistic, or anything similar that you may wish to label it as.

  • Wow, there is some heated conversations going on in this forum, (wish i never asked now)
Anyways, what do i do from here? do i wait to see if there is any long term effects (which i doubt there will be - as i am geet tough and that ha) or do i report when i feel better to the insurance as i dont think it will be that long, a few days or so.

Worry not; this is the nature of this (and many other) forums on this site. Descent into discussion/argument far beyond the original topic is a common occurrence.

There is no need to wait months after recovery to see if any symptoms come back, but you should certainly wait until your current symptoms have subsided completely. When you know definitively how long your symptoms have lasted for you can then look towards settling the issue one way or the other, be that through the involvement of solicitors or not.

If you want to be properly compensated for this, (and have someone professional to answer your questions) then don't rely on the answers here to your question - (you've seen the diversity!), but get your own solicitor to deal with this!

Very good advice, if you can get a solicitor that comes recommended, ever better.
