I know this is a very broad question, but does anyone have any suggestions as to the best broadband and phone package? Ild rather deal with one company for all my communication needs. Thanks

I am with Virgin Media I find them reasonable but I do have the TV package with them aswell along with 2 mobiles which you will get a good rate with if you are a customer already.
I know there are some areas which cant get Virgin there is a postcode checker on their website to check availabilty
Have you also tried one of the comparison sites
Good LUck:)Que Sera, Sera0 -
It's not possible to make general recommendations, as broadband is exchange-specific. Go to https://www.samknows.com, do an exchange search and look for your LLU options, these will be the best deals for you.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Currently I am on Talk Talk which has cheap package deals. The first thing to do is decide what you want to do with your internet connection and check the details of each offer carefully, what suits me may not suit you.
The comparison sites are getting increasingly crappy because they get kick-backs from the ISP's but it's still the best way to check prices in general. Avoid Sky unless you really really want a TV and broadband deal.

I like a fast connection with "unlimited" download allowance (it's not really, they throttle speeds if you use a lot) but I can't get one in my area for any price. Test your connection speed to find out what the max you can get is, there's no point signing up to a "8Mb max" connection if you can only get 1.5Mb on your phone line. You might also look at cable internet.0 -
Hi all.
Macman: Ive just had a look on Samknows and under the LLU section it has "Not available" for every company!?
Inactive: Whats most important to me is reliability and quickness of the broadband. Obviously cheap would be good, but I want reliability. An decent internet connection is essential to me.
Cool_Mint: Ill look at those links later. Goo didea on the dowload speeds. Ive just checked and it looks like I can get 8mb. I know I cant get cable. I dont want a TV - I just use BBC Iplayer and the internet. So I just want phone (free weekend/evening calls if poss) and good broadband.0 -
Then you are on an unbundled exchange with no LLU services available-so you have to chooose one of the many non-LLU providers. Plenty of those, but not cheap.
You can't get 8Mbps , you can get up to 8Mbps. It could be 1Mbps or less, it depends mainly on the distance from the exchange. If you use the exchange mapping facility on samknows it should give you some idea of speed.
You might look at Plusnet, IDnet, and Zen for starters? No free lunch, and no free laptop
