4 x 2s seem a little bit of an overkill for skirting board.
Cheers
I wasn't suggesting going that extreme. It depends on how close the widest measurement is, on whether it might make a difference.
Skirting board is available in different depths, standard sizes being 14 to 25mm but custom thicker skirting could be ordered. The current skirting could be any size and would of been taken into account when the OP measured and thicker skirting might make the difference.
It's another option and the more the better.0 -
Dont get the 'ump LoL. It wasn't directed at you specifically. If its an average 4m room and a standard roll size is 4m it won't fit properly - simples. A few mm won't make a difference.

Hi, our living room is 4m wide. When the carpet fitters came they said that the rolls of carpet have a tolerance of +/- a couple of cms so it may be necessary for us to have a thin strip along the side, depending on the particular roll our carpet was coming from. So, in answer to your question it will depend very much on the carpet you select and the roll it comes from, as well as whether you room i actually square of course! As it turned out we got away with it and the carpet fitted perfectly across the width.0
