Ticket touts - makes me mad

Donny Osmond (don't everyone groan!) is doing a one off concert next June in Wales - where his ancestors came from.
Ticket info came out through his fan website and subscribers were given first option on tickets using a code word to phone up with on Monday 23rd Oct.
Just taken on look on Ebay and there are two lots of the tickets up for auction already.
It makes me so mad - that people with no interest WHATSOEVER can get in on the act and sell tickets they have bought as if they were fans themselves.

Supply and demand....My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I occasionally sell on tickets for local events, and it never fails to amaze me how people will pay more for the tickets on ebay when they are still on sale at a cheaper price on the official site.0

On the plus side, some amateur touts are getting nicely stung. My friend put 2 x £160 madonna tickets on ebay - not a single bid!
Dont assume everyone makes money off this, people just need to get a grip and refuse to pay inflated prices, this phenonemon would then die out quickly. If people feel strongly against touts - dont buy from them! No matter how much you like Donny Osmond
!
Also, I would happily see the practise banned, forget economic arguments, it just sucks, people are being exploited and others are making money without adding any value - there are other ways of making money that dont exploit a captive dedicated fanbase.
Essentially its a lottery as to who gets through on the phonelines etc and then the lucky ones double their money through evilbay. From an ethics point of view it is simply wrong, there can be no argument over that.
The sooner it is banned, the better. I cant see it being wiped out totally as it would be impossible to control, but at least lets stop the masses from being amateur touts.Debt: a bloomin big mortgage

I don't think there should be a ban. Some people selling on eBay are genuine. My mate bought Belle and Sebastian tickets for the wrong date but managed to recoup this money by selling them on eBay for around face value. Instead, eBay should set a cap on ticket prices to deter touts, or stop the professionals by preventing them from repeatedly listing tickets. Tickets for Jarvis Cocker's first solo London gig sold out in hours - and guess what a search for tickets brought up? About 50 on sale on eBay, some for twice the price!0

I'd never buy tickets from ebay anyway, I don't trust people enough no matter what their feedback. I considered it when I was desperately looking for Robbie tickets, and I'd have happily paid the prices they were asking, but I just didn't trust them enough to pay and to get genuine tickets.0

i saw robbie tickets week before on seetickets pretty much every day at cost, and people were paying well over the odds on ebay at the time.
I got a jarvis ticket after the koko sell out by regularly rechecking site as credit card returns often occur.
Killers came up same as did the radiohead club dates. If you ever want to go to a sold out gig, always check the few days before as you may well get a bargain from original outlets.
Dont mind paying a bit more, have sold a few as well after changing plans so cant complain. Some tickets like killers at 150+ is just ridiculous in the extreme and people buying must have more money than sense
