I recently purchased a set of gel filled radiators which are thermostatically controlled, from the economy radiator company. The reason I purchased them as they were stated to be comparable to gas and they are fully controllable. I work back shifts so basically I have them set to switch on in the morning for 2 hours and then 2 hours in the evening. I want to know if anyone has any advice on the best tariff or supplier to use to run these I am currently with Scottish Power and to say the least they are not particularly helpful and rather expensive
please help

The example's in the brochure strrrrrreeeetcchhhh's the truth a lot. They are comparable to gas are they? They are using an electric rate of 8p/hour. That's the best rate on the market (EDF-Online S@ver 7 tariff - 12 month contract) but it's not an economy 7 rate so you won't get the benefit of cheap night electricity. They say it takes 10 minutes of night heat to fill the storage to capacity and they are rated at 1kw. Not going to happen.
Edit: They are also comparing to an inefficient 65% gas boiler system.
Edit 2: EEEEEK. I just found the cost
As a very rough guide for a modest house using the lowest cost products :-
 2 bed house - (4 to 5 radiators supply only) £1200 to £1800
 3 bed house - (5 to 7 radiators supply only) £1500 to £2500
 4 bed house - (7 to 9 radiators supply only) £2150 to £3200
Let me suggest to anyone reading this thread looking for 5 hours of heating daily that a cheap convector heater for £15 adding on a timer switch found from Amazon for £5 each and switching supply to the cheapest tariff will cost a lot less than this company.
Reading further into the site it costs £31 per month (averaged over 12 months) to run 4 radiators. Plus the cost of the radiators at £1200 you would be looking to recoup your investment..well....never.:footie: Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
