Confused on costs involved in replacing combi boiler

hi all,
I've posted on some plumbing forums and am still none the wiser on what the costs should be on a replacement boiler and whatever necessary extras are needed to change from a combi to a condensing boiler.
One site seems to suggest I should be looking at £3000 to replace a boiler with all the proper work, and no "shortcuts" although 1 local gas men have quoted me £300 for 2 days labour, then the cost of the boiler on top of that?!
I need to know whether I need a power flush, and whats the least work I can get away with to have a replacement boiler to replace my aging inefficient junkheap Ravenheat boiler with an A rated efficient one to see me through just 12-18 months until I sell my house.
I have a small 2 bedroom semi with 6 rads, bath, electric shower and a rubbish Combi boiler under my stairs, I believe a straight swap to be possible on the wall for a new condensing boiler, I am told it's in a good location to add a condenser pipe thing outside the house...
I have heard a variety of prices, but am converging on about £300 labour for 2 days work to replace my boiler with all the rigmarole that goes with it, plus the cost of the boiler itsself.
I'm not after the mutt's nutts in boilers as i'm planning to move in the next 12 months, but am simply too cold at present and wasting too much on my monthly gas bill. ( I can't even set it to come on and turn off at certain times! )
I must add that at present 2 of my rads have stopped working, I believe this to be either 1) sludge or 2) stuck thermostatic radiator valves.
What would you see as reasonable price for this operation please?

Good evening:
3 quotes from RGIs recommended to you by a source your trust and compare like for like (check registration with GSR). No idea on price in your area...that would require a site survey etc. but £300 labour for a combi swap reeks of a substandard job not to manufacturer's specifications or adherence to Building regs. More advice here.

thanks for that. Suppose I could just get 3 separate gas men in, can't do any harm.
So would you recommend a power flush is necessary for work of my type? This seems quite an expensive part of the process.0 -
Combi for £700,
Programmer can be built-in to combi, so free.
Thermostat £20
Magnaclean £80,
Magnetic descaler £30
Two new radiators for £100
Inhibitor £20
Assorted parts £200
Power flush with chemicals £150
Two days labour £300.
Total £1,600
Put this into a spreadsheet, increase or decrease the numbers.
Add or reduce items. In the end, you are looking at £1,300 to £2,000.
If you can get it done for less than £1,000 , do come back and tell us.0 -

THAT Is the kind of post I'm TALKING ABOUT!
WOW, you seem to know your boilers, would you mind clarifying for me please why I would need a power flush AND a magnaclean/descaler?
Also what kind of things come under "assorted parts" please?
many thanks indeed! cracking post, had no idea on the price of individual elements of this operation!0
