    Simply contact the bank and demand refund under DD Guarantee.

    Let Friends Reunited contact you directly to explain any charges they have taken.

    It is not a DD so therefore not covered. It is a "continuous payment authority" to a debit card and the bank has no control over these. It is a payment agreement set up between the customer and the company- in this case ancestry.co.uk.
    I would advice anyone to never do "continuous payment authority" for any company for the trouble that they can cause.
