If I pre order from, say four different online stores, can I cancel the orders from stores 2, 3 and 4 if store 1 is able to deliver first? Or am I committed to buy from each store once the order is placed? (I guess that's a bit of a rhetorical question, as each store will have its own rules.)
If I am committed, then I would buy them and sell them on at cost only. I wouldn't be one of those who see a way to make a quick buck on ebay in the knowledge that parents will be desperate to secure one. I would be "ethical" about it from that point of view.
And those controllers!!! How on earth do you work out which you need!!
It does depend on the store...some allow returns in 7 days some dont.Phone and askBeing bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
Ive tried pre ordering Wii from Argos with 2 games. It says I can save £20 by buying 2 games although at checkout no discount is applied. Anyone else had this problem? What am i doing wrong?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0

I'm guessing you'd make a lot of money back if you sold them on ebay. If you're looking for which controller things you need, wikipedia is handy.0 -

AFAIK, all Wii consoles, regardless of retailer, will be packed along with one Wiimote controller, and one nunchuk controller, as well as the WiiSports game.

Maybe I should be posting this somewhere else, but here goes ...
I pre-ordered a Wii console and some other odds and sods, from Play.com on their first possible day of pre-ordering, back in September.
On 7th inst., Play.com sent a standard email ...
"Due to a European shortage of the Nintendo Wii Consoles, we regret to inform you that Play.com will be unable to supply your pre-ordered Nintendo Wii at launch. As an Official distributor of Nintendo products we are guaranteed more stock before Christmas, but Nintendo have informed us, along with all other official Nintendo retailers, that the console will not be freely available until next year.
All pre-orders will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis and we will fulfil your order as soon as we can.
If you no longer wish to keep your pre-order with Play.com please login to your account and remove the item from your Outstanding Orders."
I accepted this at face value, i.e. that there would be a UK and/or European shortage of the new console, and that there would be no option but to sit and wait.
Today, however, I received an email from Amazon, stating that they will be taking pre-orders for the Wii as of 21st November, and also ...
"We're working closely with Nintendo to maximise the number of consoles we'll have for launch, and will stop taking preorders once we've pre-sold all the consoles Nintendo allocate to us for release day. We won't take pre-orders for more consoles than we can supply for launch day.
UK customers: if you choose First Class delivery, your console should be dispatched in time for delivery on December 8. We will work closely with our delivery partners to ensure, as far as possible, delivery by December 8. However, this cannot be guaranteed as some delays may occur which are outside our control."
I've emailed Play.com to ask whether or not they anticipate being able to still deliver games and controllers on launch day. No reply yet. Meanwhile, come the 21st (probably in the minute after midnight), I will most likely be placing a pre-order with Amazon, as they're guaranteeing delivery, which is worth a lot more to me than saving a tenner or so.0 -
Do we know whether the wii will be region specific, like some other consols?0
