You have to ask for it - they will give it to you immidiately to use (with no points on it I believe). Its like a nectar card but for HMV onlyBeing bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
Oh, I see. So they have a store card and a store game card?
Just phoned another HMV, they only had 16 preorders. I think some stores put preorders in without actually recieving any orders, just to get allocated more consoles.
He also said that the might be making it so people can only preorder the console if they get one or two games with it.
I'll pop in after work tomorrow and post again!0 -
I pre-ordered mine from HMV. You get 2100 points added to your loyalty card once you pay the full amount. I got a leafet from the store when I pre-ordered and it tells you all the terms and conditions of the points.0

Just some wii updates.
Nintendo planned to launch the Wii for £150 in the UK and $200 in the US, but retailers didn't want it to be a bargain bin system - thanks guys!
Sega are shifting development from the problem-bound ps3 to the Wii.
Looks like dvd playback, which was disabled in first generation Wiis, will appear in 2007.
Best Buy stores in the US are getting from 24 units (small stores) to as many as 120 (larger, busier, stores). America is getting the priority on the 4 million launch units, but it is an awful lot bigger than our island and Ninty are working on a consistant flow of consoles, so numbers may be similar.0 -
I am not sure how much help this will be, but I have just seen an advert on ITV saying you can now buy the new Ninetendo Wii for £179.99 and you get all the gaming stuff free- this includes steering wheel, a few games and a load of other interesting looking stuff!
Im sorry I didnt catch the company, will keep an eye out and try to post again!0 -

I've preordered a game via the HMV website using the 15% Discount code via Quidco, going to be a surprise Xmas present for my fella. To be honest, he'd rather have an Xbox 360 but I love the Mario/Zelda type games!
Just really asking the same questions, does anyone have a clue what kind of extra controllers we need to buy? I've seen there is a remote and a nunchuk controller but I get confused as to how many of each you need to play a game!
I'm keeping my eye out for a good bundle deal which includes either Mario or Zelda. I think they all come with a Sports game anyway.
PC World are offering the following for £259:
* Wii Console
* Wii Sports
* 2 Controllers
* Legend Of Zelda
* Super Monkey Ball
Is that a good deal or should I keep looking?0 -

Makes interesting readin. Have tosee what happens come November 19th! If there is enought Supply for the US - This will be a good guage.
Have now preordered the console +wii sports + extra remote + mario + sonic + that heroes game for £265 ish.Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
I really want to make sure I stand the best possible chance of getting one from my son for Christmas (who doesn't lol) - I don't need in on launch day, anyway.
If I pre order from, say four different online stores, can I cancel the orders from stores 2, 3 and 4 if store 1 is able to deliver first? Or am I committed to buy from each store once the order is placed? (I guess that's a bit of a rhetorical question, as each store will have its own rules.)
If I am committed, then I would buy them and sell them on at cost only. I wouldn't be one of those who see a way to make a quick buck on ebay in the knowledge that parents will be desperate to secure one. I would be "ethical" about it from that point of view.
And those controllers!!! How on earth do you work out which you need!!0
