Who knows, why did you wait until 5.30pm to ring them? How did you ask for payment to be made, if its been paid by BACs it'll take three working days.

No point in worrying until you have spoken to the sol. See what they have to say, tbh you may find the money is in your account in the morning.

I wouldn't worry provided the solicitor received the money from the buyer on Friday. Did you check? If so, it'll be on it's way. If not there by lunchtime, give the solicitor a ring.

i gave my bank details to my sol on friday and she said she transfer the money to me and i'd receive it today. i only rang at 5.30 because i've been at work all day and unable to access my account. hoping it'll be in my account by the morning. just everything with my sale seemed to be a nightmare and i'm hoping there isn't another problem

Dont be overly alarmed. I'm sure all will be well.
It happned to me once, where the solicitor made a small typo on the transfer to the bank and the money was bounced back to the solicitor. It got sorted pretty quick, but was stressful at the time.
  • Sounds like it's probably been stolen......bad luck......it's rare but does happen !!!!!:o

Speak to the solicitor. Its the solicitors responsibility to use the correct given details to do the transfer so if they have made a mistake it should be ok and they should send it to you quickly if thats the case.

Sometimes things get hooked in the system for unusual reasons, it will probably turn up tommorow. Good luck.

Maybe nobody made it to the sol's office because of the snow?
  • If its BACS then will appear in your account tomorrow but CHAPS should be there straight away.
  • Any luck OP - did the money come through today? Maybe snow in the telegraphic wires halted its progress...or a leaf on the line. :)
