lol, nope. I live in the South East of England.
In fact, Im not sure I could cut someone elses hair at all! Never really tried, but im sure it wouldn't be the same.
I think it helps that I wear my hair in a fairly 'messy' style anyway.
Shortish sides and back (cut with scissors, not shaven) and longer on the top which is just a bit 'all over the place'. Its also a mousey brown which I think helps hide any !!!! ups!
I nearly posted a pic of myself earlier, but then thought better of it and deleted my post, lol.0 -
A good idea, although plenty of decent posters do with no probs. I've nearly done so, but chickened out at the last minute.
I used to have a pic of myself on my profile not even thinking, then realised hardly anyone else had so changed it to one of my cat!
He's far prettier than me lolcarpe diem

Good luck with the complaint Bratz, I've often had a bit of a dodgy cut - well, more like I'm less than delighted - and that's from my normal hairdresser who I've been going to for years! I keep meaning to go to the local college for a colour and cut, but haven't done it yet as I really can't afford the £60 every 6-8 weeks - darn my grey roots lol, I'm too scared to colour it myself, and I really like the colour they do.
Maybe next time you could do this as I've heard that they watch the students like hawks and are really very good (and a lot cheaper than your high street places). They really should have taken as much care with you paying a cheaper price as with someone paying the full price, that's really out of order. Maybe next time you go somewhere, just have a trim the first time, and of course make sure you get a consultation before they go near you with a pair of scissors. Sometimes you can get a 'feel' of a place just by going there and having a chat with someone about your hair. Good luck x0 -
thanks Daisygirl. I thought the students wanted people they could do a proper cut with, rather than someone who only wanted a trim or who knew what they wanted? Could be my imagination of course!!
Won't be going back to a hairdresser for a while now, let it grow out a bit, but yeah somewhere for a consultation first would probably be a good idea.carpe diem

I think you can do either, I presume the first/second year students do the easier stuff, ie trims and the like & the more advanced ones do more complicated things and colour etc.0 -
that's good to know, must see what is available round here for when I need a trim etc.carpe diem

I've had loads of those haircuts. I am fine with dentists but have cried many a time in a hairdresser's chair
You can complain but even then you wouldn't really want to go back. Speak to people you know (who have good hair!) and don't be embarrassed to ask people you see locally who have good styles where they get their hair cut. Most will be really flattered!
I found a really good hairdresser through word of mouth, and best of all she is cheap and comes to my house - which is fab when you have a 3 year old who won't usually sit still in the hairdressers.
Good luck - and it WILL grow out xAnna :beer:0
