If you get another call from them, make a point of telling them to leave you alone, that you consider these calls 'harrassment' and that you will be contacting the police if they continue.
For the police to be able to get involved the other party has to know that what they are doing is considered 'harrassment' otherwise they may just keep going.
I suppose you could also go the TPS route and state that you are signed up to the TPS and as you have not requested this company to contact you they are breaking the law, and that you demand that they remove your number from their calling list.0 -
Hi there
I too have received around ten phone calls from debt collectors for lidl re a Parking charge which I ignored as per previous correspondence. When they ask for me by name I say I am not in and don't know when I'll be back but they keep phoning. I will try the harrassment answer and hope this works. I'll let you know if I get rid of them.

Have they told you they are debt collectors knowing you are not seanjamie? If they have they are in breach of OFT guidelines on debt collection!
If the phone calls are concerning you, the next time they call and say who they are, tell them seanjamie has given me strict instructions to inform you that they wish all future contact to be in writing. seamjamie will not converse with you over the telephone.
Then when they write ignore them.;)0 -

Get a nice very very loud whistle and you're prepared for the next time they call. They'll soon get the message.0 -
To quote Martin Lewis directly:
'These supposed 'fines' are the new
Wild West, and whether the cowboys
do it at supermarkets, retail parks,
hospitals or housing estates, they're
often unenforceable.'
Just to add, the tickets are always unenforceableExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Hi again
Many thanks for your help but presumably I will not be getting any more phone calls as today I received a FINAL DEMAND from Legal Recoveries and Collections Ltd regarding an outstanding account of £115 due to Athena ANPR Ltd. It states "payment is expected by this office by no later than 11.00am Monday 13 December 2010 failing which our client will consider court action to recover the debt bla bla bla" It also states that should a decree of the Scottish Courts be awarded against me it may make it difficult for me to obtain credit for things like mortgage or property rental, loans. mobile phone contract or other credit facilities.
Ignore again! Hope your following this MUMOFBETTYLOU
Im following the forums advice and hope I dont end up in court guys and gals.

There will probably be at least one more 'Final Demand' then that will be it unless they want to try the phone calls again.
If they do phone, don't pretend you are not in - you do NOT have to put up with this harassment so stop hiding. Tell them 'yes that's me, I am the registered keeper of that vehicle but I expressly deny any debt to that company. I insist that you return the file to the company and stop contacting me now or I will report you for the criminal offence of harassment.'
Don't discuss why you deny the debt or why it's harassment (if you feel they are harassing you then that's sufficient - from what you describe, this IS harassment and it's not up for discussion with them). Don't say who was driving. Don't answer their questions, have your words ready and use their phone call to inform them, assertively, of the above.
If it's just letters from now on just ignore them (in the absence of real Court papers it's all hot air).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Nothing's going to happen. Fight back, you have done nothing wrong. Have some fun at their expense. Keep them hanging on, sing some songs to them, pretend your completely bonkers.
Turn the tables on them and they will soon get fed up. :j0 -
