  • I have been using homeopathy for over 20 years and self medicate for many ailments of a general nature eg. aches & pains, food poisoning, colds, flu, catarrh, bruises etc. These things are fairly easy to diagnose for yourself if you get a good homeopathic guide book. The remedies are also used on children and babies but at a smaller dosage than for adults. The main thing to remember is that you mustn't drink coffee, brush your teeth or have eaten anything spicy just before or after you take the medicine or the remedy will be negated. For more complicated ailments you would need an initial consultation, but should be able to get subsequent remedies at just the cost price of the remedy without the cost of a full consultation. At least that is how it works with the chap I go to. I just phone him up and tell him my problem and he will send me the remedy I need. Good luck. Homeopathy is a wonderful way of treating ailments that really works it cures the ailment rather than masking the symptoms. If it works on animals it can't just be the placebo effect that doctors always say is why homeopathy works. Good luck with your diagnosing.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but you did you know that you can freeze bananas for coooking in cakes? If I have the odd banana going past its eating best I just chuck it in the freezer, and when i have enough for baking banana bread I just let them defrost. they are mushy but you need to mash them for cakes anyway so it saves a bit of time and cash on something that would usually get thrown out
  • I freeze bananas too - i use them for smoothies and banana milkshakes.
Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.

Also great if you get some cheap over-ripe ones and haven't got time to bake that day. Just chuck in freezer for the lovely banana bread recipie. See you later off to the shed to check in the freezer for stray "nana's"

Hi Moll, If you go to the top of the Chat Forum page you will find a window saying 'Please choose search'. Click on down arrow and choose 'Search Chat Forum', then in the next window type in the words 'Storecupboard challenge'. This will take you to another page where you type in 'storecupboard challenge' again and you will get to the right chat forum. There were lots of recipes posted to encourage you to use up the leftovers in the fridge, larder and freezer which were very inspiring. Have fun. Can you last longer than me???

A little update for halfway through the month.

£124.62 in total spent so far on shopping for food & supermarket items(included in that nearly £5.00 for hoover bags!!).

As my budget was £200.00 I'm slightly over target but am nicely stocked up and have a meal plan for next week.

The rest of the budget seems to be going ok too and we are under budget on what I call miscellaneous(eg what me & DH spend on going out, presents, general living etc).

The 3 purse Cash only method really does seem to work-lets hope I can stay on track for the rest of the month.
