    £1.37 since my last post.

51p in Tesco on a tin of butter beans and a bunch of spring onions reduced to 4p! Chopped and frozen ready to use in soup. The nice man doing the reductions pointed them out to me when I picked up a bunch at 14p

    Morning

I'm kicking myself because I've missed the best delivery slots for Christmas, the best I could do was A*da Tuesday night (21/12) which will probably do as my Mum is bringing the fresh stuff.

I'm trying to run the freezer down by eating up soup, I'm pretty sure yesterday's was butternut squash though I had (again) failed to label it!
Tonight will be lasagne from the freezer, a few potatoes and sprouts which need eating up. I will try the lasagne on the kids, DD's might like it, DS is a hardened case now so pizza at the ready!

I've got about £105 left so... no I won't make any predictions!!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

  • Morning All,
Hope everyone is just about ready for christmas?!
I think I'm just about there. I, like many others have been out at work xmas do's, why is every meal out at xmas really poor??? I'm definately not paying £20 for it next year. One more to go which I hope is not so bad.
Freezer is full again, and my new slow cooker is great. I hope some of you took advantage of my earlier post.
My spends should keep me within budget.
    Happy Christmas MSE'ers

    Hi All

Spent £2.85 yesterday in Mr T, £1.69 in Mr S and 50p in the corner shop = £5.04 in total. Getting very close to going over now and still haven't bought the veg for Xmas.

On a positive note I got a £10 Moneycard from Mr T through the post today. I bought a stir fry (dry goods) from Mr T a few weeks ago - it tasted off, so I checked the date on it and it said August 2010!! Thing is, I've never been one to look at BB dates much, unless it's fresh food, but now I'm going to be super paranoid. I got an upset stomach from it, so I emailed Mr T customer servies to let them know, so they can take it off the shelves so more people didn't get ill. I was surprised to get a proper response from them, and they offered a £10 moneycard as compensation :T

I'll use this in January along with the Clubcard and Nectar points to help me that month instead though. :D

Caught up with posts finally and my thoughts are with those who need them....

  • Went to the Co Op yesterday & was pleased to get a large bag of Napolina pasta half price at £1.25, 3 lots of 500g lean beef steak at £1.50 each, 2 lots of Elmwood chicken thighs at £1.25 each, 4 slices of corned beef for 76p & a ginger for 19p. Spent £12.86 altogether including 2 lots of butter for £2, some bananas & spring greens. It often seems really quiet when I go into the Co Op now since the Tesco Express opened in our town but I am finding that the whoopsies at the Co Op are better than ever.

Not so happy though about what I spent today in M & S. I was with OH's Mum so probably wasn't noticing as much as usual but looking at my receipt & what I got for my money doesn't seem very good now. I got 2 x 16 pigs in blankets which were £3.99 each, 908g of sausage meat for £3.99 & 454g of sausage meat for £2.49 plus some chocolate fridge squares for £2.29. All of it seems really expensive but not sure whether that was because it was M & S (where I don't normally shop) or because all of the things were gluten free. However I have never seen gluten free pigs in blankets before so happy for that at least. My DS better eat them on xmas day!

Mongmoney - I am fairly organised for xmas but there still seems loads to do. Better get off this 'puter & get on with some of it!

Hi all, just a few bits yesterday, sig updated.
Well the turkey & butternut shepherds pie-type thingy was good, except the topping was too orangey. I didn't add much at all, they must be very strong oranges!

Someone sent me the link to this site, it's rather nice, you can light a virtual candle.
There's probably another place to post it, but it's relevant to people on any board I guess, hope it's ok to put it here.

Another £25.97 spent between T**co, A1di and L1dl. Today we had the second portion of the turkey/BNS bake, and I've taken a portion of HM veg soup out for my lunch tomorrow, to make some room in the freezer.
