Just popped in to update my sig. Spend today of £14 on 2 large bags of cat litter ( Cat$an, 20ltr bags on offer at PAH), £5 on cat litter tray liners and a kilo carton of assorted (human) biscuits for £2.50 on offer at the coop. Stocking up on pet food and associated items before the VAT increase.
OH is working away ATM so my grocery bill has plummeted. I'm eating out of the freezer ATM. Will only need milk and some cooked meat for lunches this week. Will do my final big shop for Dec on Friday, any Christmas items I buy will come off a different budget.
Looking good for coming in under budget!;)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • Got the car to the shops so re-stocking - MrS - £32.53
Trouble is I unpacked and started writing another list as I realised I had missed some things.

Thanks hun :kisses3: - I'm feeling brighter again now. It just sometimes all gets on top of me, you know? And I'm a kinda "wear-my-heart-on-my-sleeve" kinda gal, as you've all probably noticed :o

Is it me or have prices shot up this past few weeks?xx
No - they have shot up again, but then (even though I have no car now) so has petrol I've noticed, so it's bound to have a knock-on effect. Even £idls are increasing their prices.

Awww, thanks, honey - :o:o, DH and I really enjoy trying different crafts and the bathbombs and candles were this years new project!
To be honest, I don't think I'm really that organised - a lot of what we've been doing/making has been a reaction to being made redundant and not finding any new employment - it stops us from getting too down-in-the-mouth! And maybe, just maybe, one of our crafting projects may lead to a new career.....you never know ;)
Your'e welcome :) And good for you! - let's hope it does :)

More spends yesterday - 2 packs Minced Pork, some other odds and ends, like crackers and crisps and including a pack of Chestnut Mushrooms (which I've never tried before) and a pot of fresh Garlic & Onion dip to make a new (for me) easy Saturday night recipe/tea of Creamy Garlic Mushroom Pasta.

NSD today so my balance stands at £155.25 with a remaining budget of £119.75

  • Updated my sig with spends from this week - most of it spent on goodies for Xmas, this starts for us on Saturday as we are having friends over for a big Dinner, we don't get to see them over Xmas as we have family over and so do they.

Also bought the booze that we will need and both Freezers are full to bursting.

Dinner tonight is HM Lasagne, garlic dough balls, big bowl of salad and a Gateaux for pudding.

Hugs to those that need it.:)

As regards to alcohol, i've been told by lots of people, that aldi do some lovely wines and spirits. People on here have confirmed it over and over again. Why don't you make a list and ask the kind people on the food shopping & grocery board if they recommend the aldi versions of each of the bottles you need.
Definitely. Aldi and Lidl do great wines and alternatives to spirits and baileys. Lidl's version of bailey's is £6(2 for £10 atm) and delicious, they also have a sweet white wine for <£3 which is really nice. It's german called leiberfrauch? something like that, comes in a weird bottle with unicorns and cherubs on the label but it's so nice for the money!

Spent 29p on kilo carrots today, spent £2 on 4 avocados and loads of cherry toms yesterday at market. Sooo yummy. My GC only has to last until the 24th so I'm feeling flush :p

Yes I get wine from Aldi that is £2.99 a bottle. It is called Baron St Jean. I particularly like the red & the rose although the white is ok too.

£9.78 spent since my last post.

£3.00 on body spray on Wednesday.
    99p on potatoes yesterday.
£5.29 at Lidl today on 2 x packs of mince, a crate of clementines, bag of carrots, a carton of juice and a packet of chocolate domino cubes (they're so yummy!)
50p on a bag of onions from a veg stall.

I'm off out in a bit to meet a friend for dinner and may pop into Tesco on my way home for some butter beans. I want to make some carrot and butter bean soup as haven't made it for ages.

Hi, can I join a bit late?

Me + boyfriend/OH (we moved in together a couple of months ago so it's a strange in-betweeny stage) generally put £100 each into our joint account for groceries each month. A lot for two, I know, but we're both meat eaters (him especially) and prefer to buy free range or from the local butcher where we can, and that includes a fair amount of booze too - we don't go out very much, and tend to have wine/beer and film evenings at ours or friends' houses. Cheaper than going out, but still pricier than being teetotal!

And, we're not the best at resisting "luxuries". Especially when snow prevents trips to the big supermarket and Aldi so we do lots of little shops in town! So, I would like to bring the budget down a bit but he tends to deviate from lists... so easily led by Mr T's deals!

On the plus side, we're both spending quite a bit of time with parents over Christmas, so for December we were trying for £100. Will probably go over this as adding to my Mum's housekeeping pot while I'm there, but that won't be from the joint account. If any of that makes sense?!
