Hi there

'''''''I seem to remember last year vowing that I would *save* a bit each month to pay for xmas but sadly that fell by the wayside. This is the first year where I have been so disorganised but it frightens me how much everything costs. it looks like you are getting a good deal but could I have been getting a good deal when my bill was a quarter of a £1000 ?????''''''''''
Don't be too hard on yourself...try and buy stamps from all the supermarkets £1 or 2 a week really will add up. Just do your best now to stay out of the shops and whatever you do buy make it stretch into january. Just think only a few weeks left until we make our new resolutions!!!!
Christmas is only one day and it is just a really nice dinner!!!!!!!!!!
I have reduced prawns bought this week for my starter....
I shopped yesterday for pressies etc...and didnt enjoy it one bit!!!!!! this was money that was allocated for certain items and I thought .. what is wrong with me, I used to love to spend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Christmas and remember dont knock yourself for trying to get things sorted as best you can for your loved ones."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Got all I need for dinners all week (only needed mushrooms) so hoping I wont be doing any other spending for a while. Got some dates to make the sticky toppee squares that sound devine - really looking forward to trying them

Good morning
Yesterday I bought bacon, reduced chicken which I've frozen for a curry later in the week, milk, and some pre-packed ham for diner just for a change.
I've cancelled this week's veg box and might not get it again 'til after Xmas - the local C*-op usually has lots of reduced veg on a Sunday morning so I'm hoping to stock up today. Don't let me down C*-op!
I'm also getting a @£50 A*sa delivery mainly because I've run out of DS's staple pepperoni pizzas, so I took the opportunity to buy a load of reduced Ben and Jerry's (who wouldn't!). I would get some for Christmas but it would never make it! I blame the kids. Then wonder why I'm 13st
.
So I'll be up to about £340/£450 after today's delivery - I need to make a proper plan with what I've got up to next Sunday - shouldn't be to bad.
Have a good weekend everybody.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -

I've added this link into the front page index and also added it to the Complete Cookery Collection... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi All,
As you can see by my signature, its not going great, seeing as my month ends on the 31st. However, not going to worry too much, I've got vouchers for Mr. M and Mr. T to use up, and my boss normally gives us all £50 Mr. S voucher in with our Dec wages (not that I'm banking on that, and given economic current situation, I'll be grateful just to have a job).
I've been to the farm shop today, and bought quite a bit, but a lot of it won't be used until next year, so I've split the bill between Dec/Jan. I've also been using up the Mr. A vouchers, and I now have enough washing powder and liquid to last all of 2011. Did a bit of a stock take in the week, and I have enough mouthwash, shampoo and cleaning stuff to last all of next year, and about 4 months supply of loo rolls. So, quite pleased with that really.
Although I may go over my target, I think I have learnt a great deal since doing the G.C. Supermarkets are definitely NOT our friends and Whoopsie's are great if its something you are going to use, but having a freezer full of whoopsied bagels and little else, isn't great. I've hardly bought any ready meals, or sauces etc, and now make almost everything from scratch. But most important I think, is I really enjoy doing this challenge.
Have a good week everyone x2025 G/C Jan £264.82, Feb £249.68. Mar £372.66. Apr. £326.19. May £321.01. June £296.18 July £373.26. August £22.55. Nectar - Morrison’s - £ £ Boots - £3.63 Asda Rewards - £ Tesco - £0
