NSD yesterday as planned. I was hoping for one today to but DH fancies a bottle of wine tonight.

Had an email yesterday to say my veg box delivery may be delayed as the farm is in north yorkshire where the main delivery comes from. I have onions, squash and a fair bit of frozen veg in so we will cope without it for a few days. I am glad I picked up an extra bag of spuds at Mr M on Tuesday. I should have got carrots too as I used the last few making puree for DS.

Thanks for posting the recipe for the fudge:A - does it matter if the PB is smooth or crunchy?

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • I've just added up my grocery spend for the last 12 months (since being OS!) and I am sooo pleased .... €2,312.76 that's an average of €192.73 a month! :j

I have learnt so much over the last year from OS MSE and just can not imagine not being MSE now ... I have only been lurking infrequently over the last few months but still want to thank the Jackies (O and Glasgow), CCP and SunnyDay (HM vino expert) you have all really inspired me x Thank you x

I am back with MSE now so will be trying to contribute lots!

I need to devise a monthly food budget for next year now ...

Thanks again all on OS, I hope we all have a wonderful (and MSE) christmas and a properous 2011 x

Spent £2 today on 2x4pints milk at Tesco. I was very good not to buy anything else though.

This leaves me £101.78 left until 24th Dec.

Tonight we are having Fish in parsley sauce, mashed potato, red cabbage, brussells and carrots (all veg & parsley homegrown except brussells that dad gave me yesterday).

Freezer full so i only need basics for the rest of the month like milk, ham, eggs and some veg (as still got cabbage, curley kale, celeriac, swede, parsnips, leeks, jerusalum artichokes still at my allotment).

We have £974.91 to claw back somehow and we are determined to do it this time....so it's time for cut backs!

Hurrah:j! My veg box arrived this morning at the usual time. :A Bad news is the celeriac I was looking forward to making veg stew with was replaced with a swede:( but the portobello mushrooms (eugghhh) were replaced with a cauli.:) Might need to tweak the meal plan a little.

£11.65 to go on to the total.

    Oh they did well:)
We love swede, have you tried mashing it half and half with carrot and a little butter & black pepper?
Or mash with potato. Or just add to veggie soup.
    Hth.

Great stuff, just make sure you try and get a good interest rate for those savings( very hard atm) and make your money work for you instead of the opposite.
