not to sure how odds work.. but as long as their about the same.. is that right..
Yes - you want the odds at Betfair to be lower than at the bookie if possible, but this is rare. If they're not lower at Betfair, you want them to be the same as at the bookie, or not much higher than at the bookie. If the odds at Betfair are much higher than those at the bookie you won't make as much profit
COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote:also when you register through quidco to these sites... have you got to do the bet straight away.. to get yuor cashback... or have you got a bit of breathing space to work out these bets...
I can only think of one bookie that says you have to sign up, deposit and make a bet all in one session to get the Quidco money. With most bookies you just click through Quidco (clearing cookies first), sign up and deposit. You then make your bet whenever you find good odds, even if it's a few days later..0 -

Some questions though.
I registered with betfair when it was flutter.com some 4 years ago so no free bet for me. I've also had ladbrokes and willhill accounts in the past, no freebies there either
I've got £20 ish from the £1,024 challenge to invest so if I sit down with a cold one, quidco in one window, perhaps coral and betfair in the others I may attempt something. After all my chinese proverb in my sig says it all.

Post any odds you find in the Newbie thread before making your bets so someone can check them

You know, last night I kind of regretted posting this as I thought I'd unwittingly started an unnecessary argument about MB but I've just logged on to find all these other people getting the idea too and so much help from more experienced MBers. Well done everyone- I'll be joining you all in the newbie thread just as soon as my payslip hits my desk:DDebt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

hi...mrs sparkle..... a lot of us have gained by this thread.... as i know this is going to sound stupid...
but i dont think i would have asked these types of questions on over on the match betting threads... silly i know.. but i feel as though i might get on someone's nerves by asking simple questions....
but thanks to the replies here... they have made it really clear.. and once i get some more money in from the challenge.....plus i might even open a new bank account... purely for this match betting... that way i can ..only play with surplus money... ie the £1,024 challenge money.. hope that makes sense.... and will be able to see and save up the money...Work to live= not live to work0 -

That's a very good idea.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote:i dont think i would have asked these types of questions on over on the match betting threads... silly i know.. but i feel as though i might get on someone's nerves by asking simple questions....
Nooo, come on over! Most people are very friendly and helpful, especially if you've read the info and are asking questions (it's difficult to answer questions from people who haven't read the instructions as all you can really do is tell them to read the instructions

Good idea Trikerchick- I've got a separate savings account for it too while it builds up.
I never fail to be amazed by the helpfulness of people on here!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Some new ones on there that could be investigated :TThe early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
Willhill.com has Liverpool at 1.61 to beat Aston Villa at the wkend.
The Lay bet at betfair is 1.65.
So i back both of them?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -

The lay bet is the one in the pink box. Try looking for matches tomorrow otherwise your money will be tied up for several days.

Have read this post and followed all the replies with great interest.....it has clicked with me:j
Seems simple enough....off to read up further info now on the MB threads just to make sure what I have learned is correct.
Always did like Maths at school (saddo really) and this makes perfect sense although did not realise it could be put to good and profitable use in later years.
Big thanks to Dan29 for all the replies, let the matched betting commence!0
