Yesterday was a dreadful day
Lots of work stuff going on, and I was in a meeting, got a bit emotional, and cried for 2 hours. So took myself off to the dr to see if I needed to up my medicaton, but she surprised me and said I was dealing with everything really well, and the emotional state was a perfectly normal reaction to me having ended a relationship.
But on the plus side I found 5p on the bus and 3p in my knicker drawer. I also bought 3 sealed tins - 1 for me and one for each of the boys for Christmas, will put £1 in each so they can start saving for whatever they want.
Today I discovered that I've got £5.15 on one of the cashback sites I signed up to from buying Thorntons chocolates. So they should have cost £120, but they were on half price, I used 15% money off code and got money back, so they actually only cost about £45. I also have over £10 on my nectar card so if I claim that back, and use the £10 off code for new customers, I should be able to get about £50 of shopping in Sainsburys for about £30. And if I do a similar thing in Tescos then all my shopping till the new year will only cost about £70. Obviously I will need to plan this.
I'm just debating whether to get out of bed and go and do the free scarf thing in Cardiff, which is about 20 miles away and I will have to go on the bus, but as I've got a bus pass it won't cost me anything other than the cost of the daily telegraph.
If I don't go I'll only be really annoyed with myself, and nobody said this mony saving lark was going to be easy.
I am saving on the heating bill by staying in bed though.0 -

Hope you get the scarf
thank you - I'm just about to get out of bed and go. I have however done my first online shop at Sainsburys - for delivery on 14/12 so will need to get some bits by then, but did save £20 by using my nectar points and a discount code I managed to find, the first one I used had expired. Also saved about £20 by going for their special offers on things I would normally buy anyway but maybe different brands.
It's possibly I would have spnt less if I'd gone with Sainsbury own in places, but I'm happy with what I've done.0 -
Not going to Cardiff - rang Austin Reed and there are no scarfs left, so will also save £1.80 by not buying the paper - that can go in a pot0

I am very proud of myself and did not order the QVC Elemis TSV - yes it's a bargain if you are an elemis lover (which I am) and despite the fact that I would use it all, or give some as presents, and they are offering it on 4 easy pays, it is something I do not need just yet, and cannot justfiy spending the money this month.
So I did not do any buying.0 -

Don't you just hat it when you type something out and then it goes and disappears into the ether before you can press "submit"
If I remember correctly I put something about being excited coz I've got an e-mail from a cashback site saying they have paid £5.00 into my paypal a/c which is very nice since I can't remember signing up for that specific site (shopping.com)
Also spread all the chocolates from my Thorntons Winter Wonderland Hamper on the dining room table, and there is enough for all the family to have something, and if I put a "little" something else, will look like I'm really nice!!!!
And the boys' DVDs along with the £10 M&S jumpers and a sealed tin with a quid in each, plus a couple of chocolates should see them straight for Christmas too.
Think that's me sorted properly now - I'll wrap it all up at the weekend, then all I have to do is clean and tidy
Might even make my brother a birthday card.0 -
Seems it's for some reviews I wrote - but didn't write the 10 the site says you should before getting £5. So time will tell if it actually appears in my paypal a/c:j0

And just in case anybody is reading and wishes to have a look at some of my cards (ok, all my cards so far) and some of my photography (but not very recent) then here's my Flickr page
