What's happening with 3 signal?
I've been a 3 customer for a few years and have always had a useable, although not great, signal from home.
For the past few weeks it's been terrible, the phone is always showing as emergency calls only and text messages can take ages to send.
Does anyone know if this is a temporary fault or have 3 been re-organising the network?

EDIT: Have just seen a previous thread mentioning them not using orange anymore! Question answered then, sorry.

I get perfect 3G signal AND it still fully works on the orange network if I ever move out of 3s 3G.
I wonder if the reason you are all being cut off the 2G orange network is because you are constantly connecting and only using that network when you are at home - which is specifically against their terms.0 -
Well, I have no idea how to swap between 2g and 3g, I just use the phone.
One phone is SE Z610i
Other is SE C903
I've tried both over the last few weeks and they both, more often than not, show Emergency calls only.
Any help to correct this would be gratefully received.0 -
There have been reports of 3 cutting off the 2G signal in areas where they deem to have sufficient 3G signal. This may be the case for you if you have fringe coverage. I would suggest a telephone call to them, they normally get the Tech team to call you back within 72 hours to confirm whether this is the case.0

they are updating masts according to guy at 3 so there will be some props also the weather dont helpReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. I am having exactly the same problem. For 4 days I have had no signal at work and at home I can only get a signal in certain parts of the house.. My husband is on 3 too but my reception on my iphone seems worse than his Sony Ericsson..
I called to complain and the lady said they were doing work on a local mast and the problem should be rectified in 5 days :eek:.. Don't believe her ..
I managed to get a weeks free line rental .. To be honest I just want normal service resumed as it is causing me real problems not being able to get hold of anyone...0 -
there loads of 3 customers out there with the same problem take a look a www.blog.three.co.uk and 3g.co.uk.
the fact 3 have decided to to take down 5000 cell sites and remove orange roaming does'nt help
i have been having problems since sept and every other week they tell me it should all be sorted in the next 14 days.
speak to 3 and they will let you cancel your contract without any charges
3 coverage map should say we now have 97% black spot and 3%coverage.0 -
I'm not recommend 3. When i go to my office on the lowest floor the signal always lost.0

Orange are no longer providing a backup service for three and are currently switching off the ability stage by stage at present.
Not sure but read it was due to the Orange / T-Mobile merger.0
