Best 32/34"" TV with built in HD

Not sure where to post this - Mods feel free to move if there is more appropriate place please.

We have a 32" Panasonic Vierra TX-LXD80 at the moment but it does not have HD built in,we have had it nearly three years now and it is a really good picture but we would like one with HD. As there are so many to choose from just wondered if anyone can offer any help in choosing a new one and any pointers to look for - thanks.

Sony Bravia and Samsung are two excellent brands.

    Here are two current deals

You ask for pointers to look for, I would be looking for a TV with wifi so that I could access Youtube and iPlayer and other online services. I would also bear in mind the VAT rise in January. I would also compare prices for 32-34" with 37-40" because with some brands offering special deals there may not be a lot of price difference.

That TV is HD Ready (not Full HD) so why do you need a new one just to get HD?
You just need an HD source-what platform are you using for your TV?

    Thanks for your comments.

Sorry should have said we rent our TV so price not too much of a consideration - chose this method after years of buying, because after weighing everything up renting was best option as we can upgrade every year if we want for little difference to monthly payments and we are never without a TV if anything goes wrong.

So really only looking to upgrade to one with HD inbuilt (no extra wires/box etc) and only use it for TV, Freeview and Wii at the moment.

So what you want is a TV with a built in Freeview HD tuner?-that narrows down the options somewhat.
IMHO, since your TV can already display HD, you would be better off with a Freeview HD PVR box which will give you all the PVR benefits. Full HD at 32" is hardly going to look any different.

Hi, if you are going for a tv with Freeview HD tuner , do you realise how few HD channels you will get at present, plus, also check if your local transmitter has switched to HD yet. Mine doesn't switch until well into 2012 . I also agree with macman thet a Freeview PVR would be preferable at present then when you NEED to replace your tv Freeview HD will come as standard.

Full HD (as opposed to Full HD Ready) is just coming into the larger sets, so you're extremely limited with the 'smaller' 32 inch TVs. No such thing as a 34 inch TV either AFAIK, next size up is 37, where you're more likely to find a built in HD tuner. Panasonic and Sony have the most sets available with FreeviewHD at the moment.
