But he didn't intervene - to do that would have meant confronting them. He didn't join in their conversation to ask further questions - being nosey. Nor did he move closer to hear better - eavesdropping.
All he did was sit quietly minding his own business, when others nearby talking perhaps too loudly, made comments which he thought we maybe interested in. He held an opinion on the comments, and wanted to see if that was shared by others.

Most cats do not like travelling and get very upset. Sedatives will work for some, but then, if you are doping your cat because you are going to subject it to a bad experience on a regular basis, there really is something wrong.

with respect, I can't see what makes this person a selfish cat owner? I have re-read your post and it puzzles me.

we see and read about so many cases of animal cruelty, it sounds more like she is a caring cat owner.

I have 3 indoor cats, after losing my beautiful cat to a speeding driver right outside my front door, in full view of my 3 kids, there is no way I would have it any other way now. They don't miss it if they have never had it.
