She also said there were indoor cat which is another pet hate(pardon the pun) of mine(medical circumstance withholding) buts that a different argument and not as half as offensive as what she talking about.
I was really annoyed at her
What is wrong with indoor cats? Outdoor cats frequently get killed/hurt by running over, dogs or gangs of feral kids. You might feel differently if your cat came limping home with a broken leg or somebody brought a mangled body to your door. As for pedigrees plenty of people won't let those outside due to fear of them being stolen. Not to mention the devastation they cause to wildlife, bell on the collar or not. And pooping in other people's gardens. Plenty of cats are happy living indoors.0 -

Our cats live very happily indoors - they have the option to go out but, as old ladies, prefer their home comforts and always have done.
... interesting that the OP hasn't had the decency to come back and reply to their own thread... I suspect this was only posted with the intention to antagonise members of the pet forum

Exactly,My old boy Orbit (rip) & now Daisy are indoor cats due to where I live & Daisy does not get on with other cats.
Orbit didn't like the car much & it broke my heart when I had to take him to Belfast for treatment he cried so much. One the way back I let him out of the carrier as he was very stressed, more so at the way the pdsa vet handled him, & he crawled onto my lap & wet himself.
In hindsight if I'd have known he would have been this stressed,I probably wouldn't have taken him to Belfast.0 -
better that she took it than put it in a bin lol
im not keen on cats as they always poo in my garden. i just box up all the poo and take it round to the neighbour and give it to them all neat in a box.0 -
My old cat Tiger was a happy indoor cat for 10 years before we had to put him to sleep due to kidney cancer.
Now I have 4 kittens who will also be indoor cats - they have each other for company and my dog Zara as their foster mum....
OP - you are very opinionated...0 -
my cat is indoors only due to health reasons. He's partially blind and more susceptible to cat flu due to the way he was treated as a baby. sorry, should have mentioned this in my first post, save posting twice!
Point is, he's been indoor since he was a baby and he's happy as Larry, and has no desire to go outside. I was recommended to keep him in cos of his health, but my vet also mentioned that they recommend cats are kept as indoor cats if possible as it's better for them. Less disease and no cars indoors!
Obviously though, if a cat is used to being outside and wants outside, it would be cruel to keep them in. But what they never have they never misscarpe diem

Lost a cat to being run over so full aware of the risk thank you. I'm not going to discuss cat being indoors out outdoors in this thread.
It was difficult not to hear her convo yeah i probably should have said something hindsight is a wonderful thing. She sounded more interested in making her life easier than those of her pets.
