It sounds like your aunt doesn't do arranged parties - there is nothing you can do about that. Similarly, you can't make someone remember/acknowledge a birthday. It sounds to me like you feel your aunt is out to hurt your feelings - when to be honest I think she is oblivious... As for the cheesecake eating comments, I think you are just looking to pick fault - did you tell her not to each it?

In my opinion you need to grieve for the aunt you loved. And focus on your own life (which it sounds like your aunt does) as you will not be able to mould aunt 2 into aunt 1.

im not trying to make my aunt horrible person because she not, its just somepeople being a bit inconsiderate and expecting the red carpet at there family do's.
as far as the cheesecake and trifle i might be picking fault but they had a few options
    ie: not have any pudding
waited until we got to my grandparents house and have together
or invited us to sunday dinner

sorry i my first message had to read when i was typing to me it made sense
  • You cant choose your family - just accept that your Aunt is like this. Try to think of the positive things about her and really dont waste your life freting over someone you cant change.

I had a big fat aunt who used to eat the whole trifle on boxing day and didn't let the kids have any. She was so fat she could rest it on her stomach while she ate, and her legs used to stick out on the sofa because she couldn't bend her knees.
