There has got to be a way to stop the laptop syncing, if not, Google need to take a damn good look at their privacy policy regarding this...

Presumably you have stopped your bank accounts etc. Surely even if you use the lappy for banking you have to answer questions to access it. Only chance you of getting it "traced" or at least the use of your "details" is ask your bank to leave the account active and see where it is accessed. Even then there is no guarantee that someone is stupid enough to use their own ISP to access it. Call in your insurance policy, change all of your own passwords for anything to do with the Internet . Also accept to be without credit cards debit cards etc, if your details are there then change them all and don't hold your breath for the boys in blue to find it either. Sorry Tom just a realistic view.

Hammyman's not too sensitive is he, you poor thing! You have my sympathy, must be horrible for you.

I don't know about Google Sync but get down to the police asap, they may know a way to track it, they must deal with it all the time.

Just spotted laptoplocator.net (sorry I'm new so not allowed to post links yet) on the web, have no idea what they're like but it's free for personal use. There are other similar sites out there that may help, but as ever keep your eye out for dodgy sites. Don't panic and click on just anything!

It's early days and there is still hope.

Change your Google passwords too. Google don't guarantee what you save on their servers is safe by you allowing your laptop to access it without going through normal validation.

If I change my password won't it just automatically sync to the other computers I use???

Change the passwords on allthe ones that sync with Google. It should not be able to sync with anything outside your control. Plus change your Wireless network password, and router password.
