Should I not upgrade?

I'm on Orange £15 a month for 2 years. Contract ends in February.

In terms of what I need, Giffgaff £10 a month goody bag is the perfect sim for me.

In terms of getting a phone, contract is better as working out costs, it will cost a lot of money to get a good phone on pas as you go.

I really want a phone with a qwerty keyboard. Not exactly the Blackberry but something that looks like... the xperia but not the xperia (too many bad reviews).

Should I just wait till the next year to see what phones come out? I had a touch screen but I don't like them so much without the keyboard, and if I went for something like the xperia, I'd want the keyboard there.

If you wait you''ll be waiting forever for the next best thing. There will always be something better next quarter.

You won't get the GiffGaff type deals on a contract with a phone, it will be more per month, and you won't get Giffgaff prices if you need a new phone the phone handset costs have to be paid for somehow.

Only you can decide if you want a new phone, or a cheap deal. Once you decide that you can work on what exactly you want.
  • I quite like the Desire Z.

I also like the xperia because of its keyboard, but it has bad reviews generally.

Anything which looks like the above two phones (with a keyboard) I'd want to get.

For my tariff, I don't really need minutes but I need same network minutes e.g. on giffgaff you can call a giffgaff for free. Also on Orange, my contract is good because it has magc numbers, which is what I use. As well as unlimited texts. I'm not too fussed about minutes.

Magic numbers will be carried over if you upgrade.
The Min x10 Pro is an ok phone, but it runs on an old Android.
I say look at the desire Z. It is a good solid phone.
  • I am looking for the Desire Z tariffs. I'd want to stay on Orange or get a giffgaff sim and place it inside but I'm thinking overall if I do that it is going to work out very expensive. O2, tmobile and the rest are no good for me.
