Oh Pippi, I do understand that feeling! (The "I-should-be-happy-but-actually-I'm-blimmin'-miserable one, if I haven't just jumped in and assumed things and got the wrong end of the stick?)
But, I find when in that frame of mind, the worst thing I can do is to feel guilty for being unhappy....
And here's another one - I recognise that guilt thing too.NorthernLas wrote: ».... if you were interested in renting part of your garden for my tent (and your washing facilities and maybe providing some food), I would really be interested in coming to visit your lovely island! If I was able to borrow transport (for a fee of course), that would be even better.
Ooh! Now there's an idea. Done quietly with friends and friends of friends, otherwise you get into all sorts of regulations, I suspect.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Goals look like good ones to me :-)Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
trog what do they taste like? I'm wondering about them for our lottie.0

Hi LT,
I don't really know how to describe them, they have a very distinctive flavour I think, you could say it was sort of nutty. Some people love them, others don't and sadly I seem to be one of the latter. I just made a huge pan of veg soup and put just a small handful of artichokes in it and I found the flavour really strong but my OH couldn't taste them at all.
If you want to try some I could pop a few in the post if you PM your address.0 -
Well done on the goals list Pippi! Ambitious, but cheery
(and of course, 'after writing'... :rotfl: - although don't forget you need some cheery things in the meantime too! :j :j )
And you're more than welcome to PM me about finishing your thesis - but given the trouble I'm having finishing my own, and the fact that I know nothing about what you're writing (and I think we possibly talked it to death last week :rotfl:) I don't think I'd be much use!Cheery suggestion though Northern Lass
(and I can certainly recommend Pippi's as a holiday destination! :j :j :j )

p.s. I am also interested in mail order plants, as my garden is underwater at present (no topsoil as robbed by builders in the 1960s when they went bust, lowest house in road, no drainage, no access to get a mini digger in) do you do plants with snorkels???0 -
Plants with snorkels ... love it
Doesn't watercress come with a mini-snorkel?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ah hah, I've grown watercress, but in a planter. It's confusing as there are some sorts that don't need running water to do just fine
Bl**dy bad job when I have to put wellies on to fill the bird feeders, hmmph0 -

Bl**dy bad job when I have to put wellies on to fill the bird feeders, hmmphexcept mine is solid clay so goes from stuff Demi Moore could have used in Ghost to something you could build a house with overnight ).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Quick thought on the subject of "vehicle rotation" - is it possible to combine SORN and 6 months road tax so that you use the car from, say October - march, then Darwin fir the other half the year? Only one set of running costs at a time, half the cost in Tax....also I take it you use a specialist firm for his insurance? My BiL's family have a Bongo and pay less for the insurance on that than their regular car!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
