just wondering if i can test your ingenuity please.

I'd like to get a 'water bottle insulator snug' for my animals water bottles but i can only find them for the 'cheap' price of £7.99 or more. Now i love my animals but as i have two/three bottles to cover i'm not prepared to spend this money. Does anyone have any ideas of what i can use. Last couple of years i've used old socks but they never really do the job properly and the bottle still freezes.

A large tube of pipe lagging stuff- i used to fit that over my rabbits water bottles and it works a treat. Sometimes i wrapped bubble wrap around the outside as well.

Woo hoo! Happy new diary! 'subscribes' will do my best to pop in more often.

Just back from friend's party - ended up cooking a curry as caterer let her down. Was fun and curry went down well! Better head to bed!

Thats exactly what I was going to say :D the other thing I use for stuff is an old sleeping mat from the days when I went rough camping - this was a tip from pandapaws, if you remember her. Those mats are made of neoprene, and I cut a piece off one to use as a kneeler, but they're great insulators as well. The pipe lagging Bob's suggested tho, is ready shaped :j

I always think of mse as a 'one stop shop' for life :) LT I wouldn't have had a clue about the bottles -- but brilliant solutions up there!

Good morning all lovely to see your lovely faces on here - thank you for the good luck we'll need it!

:) gorgeous sunny day in the snowy isle of stripes.

Done the hens kettle on - contemplating porridge..........................then I have to get out and have a word with the hens - I want to let them roam about in the new field - but they need to make sure they don't wander off - however, I'm not sure they'll listen and the fence out there is only designed for cows - so they'll just walk through it - no way of changing it - I need to learn to let go and trust them DD tells me - lol - when she's running about with me later trying to round up random silly hens I hope she remembers that statement!
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

Toasting ... nice, I've forgotten what that is! I like the idea of chatting with the hens too :) - would they ever get as far as a road with traffic, as opposed to your track? If you wag your finger at them, will they try to peck it? :)
