Good morning everyone, looks like it's going to be a sunny day here, yippee!! I have just looked out of the kitchen window at my euphemistically-named flower bed, and it looks so much better now I've taken a lot of the taller weeds out. Hope it's sunny in Pippi-land too :)

Well done - what are you calling your flower bed, I've always thought 'florence' or gertrude was a good name for a flower bed. Or cecelia, gladys, petunia, etc :)

Weather here - its gusting at 45 mph here

But otherwise its Ok, lets face it, its not raining *yet* :)

    Have a lovely day Pippi! :j :j :j

We were doing a good Orkney sales pitch at our party last night :rotfl: Think we've persuaded a couple of people - give us a couple of years and we might arrive with a large retinue of folky musicians and general all-round-cheery folk and set up next door :D :rotfl:

Oh, and someone's given me a pneumatic drill - so that's my afternoon entertainment sorted :D :rotfl:

In an ideal world, the flower bed (and associated hazelnut tree and other unidentified tree/bush things) would be turned into a veggie bed, but as I've lived here for over 7 years now and have never done it......I think it will stay a messy bed, my favourite kind ;)

DD and I were very excited though yesterday when we emptied out the potato sack weeds as we found a dinner's worth of salad spuds nestling in the soil. Woo hoo!! Must grow spuds again this year, they're fun and soooo yummy.

I need to find someone to dig the garden over for me and do all the back breaking stuff that literally, breaks my back if I try and do it.

Pippi, I know it's been said by everyone, but, I just cannot understand what 'silly Daddy' is thinking.
It's probably just as well he is on a different land mass or we might get back to you 'sending the girls round'. We might feel the need to show him how good we have all become at sharpening garden implements recently, in a purely educational way of course.
