Transfer Web TV. Help please.

Hi.

I've got a BBC Iplayer tv downstairs currently with a wifi dongle being used to transfer web tv to it, from my router and pc upstairs.

For every day tv Im using a Pace sd Freesat box. My pc has the wireless router attached and the only phone line enters that room.

Unfortunately we have'nt got Freeview in this area so the channels as regards web tv are a bit limited.

If I want to watch one of the Freeview channels I do so by watching on my pc using www.tvcatchup.com or by my laptop connected to my downstairs Iplayer tv, by the use a vga cable.

The quality of the connection from laptop to tv is a bit dithery. Im not sure whether it would be possible to run a vga cable from the graphics card on my pc upstairs all the way downstairs to the tv. Im still trying to find out about that.

My question is. Can I transfer a Freeview channel from my pc/router upstairs to a second router connected to my downstairs tv and view it there.

Failing that If I was to fit an extra long ethernet cable from upstairs to the downstairs tv, where would I need to plug it in to transfer a Freeview channel between the pc and tv.

I can see an ethernet socket on the tv but there's only one on the rear of my pc which has the router ethernet cable attached. I can see that the router has several spare sockets.

Thanks in anticipation. Allen.

    Hi.

I think I might have cracked it with a bit of help from the web. I'm going to try running an HDMI cable from the port on the back of my PCs graphics card to the HDMI port on my tv.

    Regards. Allen.
