Will a missed card payment affect my mortgage application?

in Credit cards
Hi,
I recently obtained a Halifax Clarity Reward credit card. Unfortunately I missed my first payment on the card, which was due to be paid by 15th November, I wrongly assumed that the direct debit was set up when I provided my bank details on the application.
On 21st November, I realised the error and immediately made a full payment online, including purchases that were not due to be paid yet.
I called up customer services and they very kindly waived off the late fee. In the meanwhile I have send them a letter requesting them to not let the missed payment show on my credit file, as I have a HUGE saving account with them and another card with a limit of 15k. I am not sure if they will oblige.
I am going to buy a property early next year, and I am concerned that the missed payment, if it shows on my credit report, will affect my mortgage applications (I do have a minimum 30% deposit though). I have had NO missed payment ever before this.
Can anybody please advice what's in store for me, and do I have a way out?
Any words of wisdom will be highly appreciated!
Thanks!

It would certainly look more negative then positive.0 -
I would not worry too much about it....if it does show it will show as a late payment not a missed one. The mortgage company will not be too much concerned about it especially if your past credit history is impeccable & also that you have a large deposit....0

Agree with Stephane, wouldn't worry about it. If you're dealing with the mortgage provider directly, you'll be able to explain this to them. Keep your statements showing that you cleared the balance and more when you realised the error, and give them a copy if they're interested.
One blip isn't enough to make you look like a risk - from recent discussions, mortgage providers are much more concerned with security and affordability."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
